Regarding the "rights issues," Grease is legally a Broadway musical and therefore super hard to get the rights to perform it anywhere. There are a lot of forms to fill out and you have to pay royalty fees. Getting a DVD made would require a lot of money because they would have to purchase the rights to Grease to make the DVD.
