The theatrical cut didn't have the kiss in that last scene, so when it was mentioned in interviews nobody talked about it one way or the other. But I think the director mentioned that he let them improvise it and he was really happy with Jun's screaming reaction. :)

Her name is the point. On TV and in interviews he always calls her Mao-chan, but there he calls her Mao.
