I was still slightly naïve about the crazy at the time, and thought as long as I emphasized that the comm was positive in tone and not about character bashing, then there would be no problems with it being an open comm. Nevertheless, community posts provided mocking material for the people at antichlois.

And people wonder why Chlois fans are OMG SO SNEAKY, and tend to talk in filters, instead of open comms where we can be mocked *shakes head*

So I figure either it was a *~Chloe fan gone rogue~* who wasn't in the mafia clique, or a Lois fan made a sockpuppet and did it themselves to cause drama and panic

Do you think it could have been Shelly? She was apparently harassing you in order to delete her LJ and yell that the Chlois mafia where driving her out of fandom, and it definitely became an urban legend after that that several Clois fans have had to go under flock or delete in order to avoid our trolling them. This all certainly makes me wonder the people that made the biggest deal about the "virus", had their own agenda and could have send the dodgy link themselves. And yeah I still see the occasional mention of fandom sending viruses to one another, and I'm torn between wanting to stay out of the wank, and having to sit on my urge to yell that it was apparently not even a virus at all.

I really can't say why she did all this, though I'm left wondering if she set out to make existing shipper war tension worse, and paint herself a martyr, in order to gain pity and attention from certain fans or BNFs on the side she wanted to court.

All I can think is that she did have an agenda behind it. You could maybe argue the first time that she was just genuinally a fan of yours who didn't realise how creepy she was being, but to be called out and then to deliberately start paralling all of your icons with Clois icons, yeah that's deliberate. Similar with ripping off your Chlois weekly challenge comm with a daily Clois comm with more members, as if to make some kind of point.

And actually something similar happened with the Allison Mack comm that was started up to thank her for her final year on the show. A scrapbook was discussed, along with sending letters from the fans thanking her for her time on the show. Next thing the organisers were PM'd that a group called Global Gratitude have just started up with plans to send letters thanking all of the cast (well Tom, Erica, and the "supporting cast") and will we consider sending a copy of our letters for Allison to their campaign too. A few people were like hmm kind of coincidentally similar to be sending letters now all of a sudden, but oookay. Next time the Global Gratitude (which I believe originates from the Divine Intervention fanboard of which I am pretty sure that Shelly is a mod/BNF at?) started up with ambitions to send a certain number of letters (more than had been discussed for Allison naturally), and Tom and Erica were suddenly getting a scrapbook, which what a surprise featured the the exact same layout as had been publically posted for Allison's scrapbook. People were pretty gutted at having the scrapbook design ripped off like that when it was meant as a gift for Allison and nothing to do with fandom trying to outdo one another, although those discussions only went on under flock, cause there's no way of not coming across as the bad guys and petty as hell for calling out a thank you campaign for ripping you off. But when I see the campaign being copied with a grander website, and more ambitious plans with letters and such, it seems deliberate to me if y'know what I mean...

After that of course the Allison/Chloe thank you comm ended up being yet another Chloe-related comm that went under flock and under fandoms radar, which may have also been the point to drive other fans more underground and stop dirtying up our fandom Who even knows any more

It really makes me wonder what's going on in this fandom sometimes
