shelly505/inklane from the very beginning, as I understood it from my point of view. I actually had no idea it would be this tl;dr - I didn't really try to put everything together in one place until this week. Obviously this tale comes with a really heavy Chloe-mafia bias, so more neutral parties may feel free to take my opinions and theories with a huge grain of salt.
There's been other, different, also crazy wank that sometimes overlaps with this, but I don't have caps to back up anything else since I haven't been actively involved with wank outside this. So I'm trying to leave other Chloefen-vs-Loisfen wanks alone, and focus only on unraveling the tangled webinklane has woven. If we can keep any resulting discussion focused on what inklane did and not the rest of the crazy, that would be cool. I think this is wanky enough on its lonesome.
If I got any of the events wrong, please correct me in the comments. Since I wasn't a part of the drama from before she started stalking my journal, I had no reason to cap it, so some of these caps I've gotten from friends who were involved in those kerfluffles.
The first time I think the Chloe mafia took notice of Shelly was due to her involvement in the "Chlarkers are just like the KKK" wank from April of last year. She wasn't the one who made the post, just one of the Lois fans who weighed in and defended it. Unfortunately the caps of the comments have since been deleted at the entry, and I neglected to save them (darn my faith in f_w's archival skills!), but after the next thing hit people were like, "Isn't that the chick who was in the KKK wank?" So that was the first kerfluffle, to my knowledge - since the caps have disappeared, there's not much point to mentioning it except to demonstrate she was not exactly highly sympathetic to Chlarkers from the start.
(And when I say Chlarkers, I more or less mean Chloisers, asshelly505 was apparently fine with having multishippers on her list as long as they also shipped Clois. She took care to say that she knew it wasn't any of the Chlarkers on HER flist who were evil troublemakers. As long as you shipped Clois too, it was cool.)
After that, the next time she caused Chloe mafia ripples was the "virus" wank on August 31st, 2009.
She made the following public post:

She then goes on to explain how there was a chat for Lois fans (which was publicly advertised on twitter) and it was infiltrated by an anonymous person, who sent a virus to everyone in the chatroom disguised as links to Lois stills for a new Smallville episode.
Though Shelly states she wasn't even in the chat.
An anonymouse described the chatroom "virus" at wank_report as such, emphasis mine:
Which Shelly confirmed downthread in her own post's comments, but then persists in calling it a virus. And, of course, others have followed suit since and referred to the "virus spreading" as a standing example of the Chloefen's evil.
Okay, time out. Let me say here:
I really do not believe it was a member of the Chloe mafia who did this.
It was, apparently, a RICKROLL VIDEO THAT OPENED UP POPUPS. Why wouldn't you confess to the terrible sin of rickrolling?
The Lois fans themselves admitted in the above posts that no damage was done to the computers of a single person in chat, because it was a video that opened up a bunch of popups. Yet they went on loudly calling it a virus, and blaming the Chloe fans for their virus-spreading conspiracy.
The above posts are all I know. They haven't shared proof, so obviously it goes both ways that I have no proof to vindicate anyone. While it was an open chat that was advertised, I admit that chances are against it being just some random troll from the main twitter live feed who strolled in, if they took the trouble to have a story about having links to new stills for an upcoming episode.
But the main reason I don't think it was one of us?
Is because the Chloe mafia is gossipy as all hell, and someone would have talked by now. For sure.
If one of us went to all the trouble of infiltrating a DI chat to plant a RICKROLL VIDEO DISGUISED AS STILLS (which...rickrolling? really?), I am pretty sure they would have spoken up by now considering how much wank this has sparked. If only to say more loudly, as Lois fans themselves have admitted more quietly, that it was a pop-up video and not a virus.
And even if someone didn't come forward publicly, I'm pretty sure they would have whispered, "Yeah, I admit it, I totally rickrolled the Loisfen chat for the lulz! I told them it was Lois stills, but it was NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UUUUUP..." And since no harm was done, no doubt the Chloe mafia would be like, "YOU HAVE DAMAGED THE CLOISERS SO TERRIBLY BY DEPRIVING THEM OF LOIS STILLS AND REPLACING THEM WITH RICK ASTLEY! CRITICAL HIT TO THEIR HP! OH, HOW WE SHALL CHUCKLE OVER THE LOISFEN'S SUFFERING! TEE HEE HEE! ...ALL RIGHT, ENOUGH CHUCKLING OVER THE PAIN OF THE LOISFEN, LET US DISCUSS OUR PLANS FOR THE SACRIFICES TO SATAN OVER THE WEEKEND." (This is, obviously, exactly what private Chloe mafia conversations sound like.) And from there the word would spread through the mafia grapevine.
Except nobody has ever said they did it, publicly or privately. Yeah, it's my word against the world's, but it's the truth.
So I figure either it was a *~Chloe fan gone rogue~* who wasn't in the mafia clique, or a Lois fan made a sockpuppet and did it themselves to cause drama and panic (which, considering that it was a harmless video that opened up a bunch of popups, and yet wanky Loisfen were screaming VIIIIIIRUS! all over and still use the VIIIIIRUS! as evidence of their superiority in other wanky arguments, is frankly what I find more likely. But obviously, given the reasons I'm making this post in the first place, I'm pretty grudgey AND paranoid where crazy Loisfen are concerned now, so my judgment is questionable). But nobody has any IP info, so we'll probably never know.
And anyway, I know it's a lost cause; the Chloiser virus will live in fandom urban legend infamy forevermore. Moving on.

I have no problem with Chlarkers at all depite what some of you do because I understand all ships have sour people in them, and yet I'm still jumped on for things in my personal livejournal.
marikology: I would appreciate links to prove your claims. I don't even know any Chlarkers technologically-savvy enough to do such a thing.

I made this post out of anger after hearing that from MODS/DI members and apparently Craig said he saw it going around Livejournal too. I want to keep my journal open for all type of shippers to feel comfortable being my friend and have nothing against Chlarkers/Chloisers, which is why I also want the ones who did that to know not to add me which is why I made it public.
I dont have links, sorry, But I feel I really shouldn't have to provide them when I have proof myself. I know your just defening other Chlarkers, but I'm sure they were ones you might not even know!:)

There were rumblings of the virus thing making it onto f_w. At that, apparentlyshelly505 made a public post loudly and pointedly announcing that she was ONLY SIXTEEN (or: I know I'm being super wanky, so I'll pretend to be younger than I am to avoid f_w!). I've been told someone took caps of it and another separate, previous post she stated she was 18, but the person with the caps has thus far been unreachable; if I get the caps I'll edit them in later. And Shelly never had her birth year listed on her profile for as long as I've watched her journal. (I definitely don't think she's a sockpuppet, though; her shelly505 journal had existed for years and had hundreds of entries, if mostly flocked, so it seemed legit. Which is why I was so surprised when she was later so quick to bahleete without a fight.)
Okay. Up until now, I had been staying out of all of the wank, though I had heard about most of the drama (see: Chloe mafia being gossipy as hell). I'm a reader of f_w, not a star of the wank reports, normally. But this is where my involvement began.
Until last summer I rarely posted outside my own LJ or flist about anything regarding SV. Still don't, picspams aside, because if you haven't noticed, this fandom is INSANE and I also don't exactly take the show wildly seriously. I was content to hear about the crazy from my flist without experiencing it firsthand.
I was so low-profile that I would question how my journal even came to Shelly's attention in the first place, except for that last summer I ran a Chloe summer challenge community with a Chloiser slant, called![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
up_away. It was a pro-Chlois comm, though I took care to remind people regularly that entries were to focus on Chloe only (i.e. not to be anti-Lois).
I was still slightly naïve about the crazy at the time, and thought as long as I emphasized that the comm was positive in tone and not about character bashing, then there would be no problems with it being an open comm. Nevertheless, community posts provided mocking material for the people atantichlois. shelly505 was among those who got a giggle, so obviously she knew of my comm by August 25th at the latest:
Around the middle of October, I had finally taken notice that Shelly had been ripping me off and was being a creeper (due to her questionable judgment in posting her copied handiwork to the same community as me). It hadn't registered with me that she was the same girl from the virus kerfluffle because she had locked that post, so I posted about the issue under f-lock and asked my flist if they agreed that what she was doing was creepy. Everyone said, "That's the chick who told Chlarkers to fuck off in the virus wank! And yes, she's being creepy!" After being told how she'd reacted tomarikology's comment, I was like, "Okay, politely reasoning with her seems like it's not really an option here," and so after she continued to copy more and more, I called her out with screencaps on October 21st.
I know that Shelly knew of my LJ since June 2009, and based off the material she had copypasted, I strongly suspect the copying probably began around July, but I have no way of proving it after the bahleetion (as I never thought the wank would get this far and that there would be a need to cap her ENTIRE LJ BACK THEN). But it is my belief that the creepiness began before the virus wank in August, not that the copying was something she did out of "revenge" (especially since I had no involvement in the virus wank whatsoever). Which, if I'm right, makes the virus wank even wankier, if she was already obsessively journal-stalking and ripping off a Chloiser, at the time of her post accusing Chlarkers/Chloisers of spreading anonexistent virus and trolling her journal.
Within 24 hours of my post calling her out,shelly505, her graphics journal, her twitter account, and her YouTube account were all deleted.
However, the PL fiasco went down that same week, so Shelly's bahleetion got less attention than it might have otherwise. I'm not touching the PL thing and I really don't want to rehash that crazy here. But it's relevant because at Journalfen's wank_report, while anonymice were also weighing in on the "virus," they were also saying how Chloefen had run Shelly off Livejournal and linked to this post as their proof. Which is only of interest to me because it includes a fraction of the truth:

And now they ran off Shelly by harrassing her at Twitter calling her a stalker and copy cat all because some aspects of Clois_Daily were similar I guess to their Chlois community.. like apparently, if they have a "How did you become a Chloiser" aspect, no other fandom is allowed to have a "How did you become a Cloiser" or whatever, as part of their comm.

And see, the fact that they spend all of this time just plotting this stupidity kills me. It's like the virus they sent out during the chat a few months ago. I mean, don't they have lives? I mean, it's not our fault that we not only have canon on our side, but also that Erica and Tom have awesome chemistry and the current writers have hit their stride. And I'll tell you right now, if it was Chlois Theory spoilers or surprise!Chlarker, they'd be singing like nightingales.
And for the millionth damn time: WHY would you still want the Chlark? You want to just see Chloe chewed up and spit out again? Come on! And Chloe is (was)an awesome enough character in her own right. Why does she have to be someone else?
Part of me wants to check the dates on this Chlois_Daily (although how the hell do they have enough material to make a chlois_DAILY, I want to know). They really are just grasping at straws. They just won't leave her alone at all, will they? I just wish I knew a way to keep them from doing this.
Of course, it wasn't the whole Chloe mafia going aftershelly505. It was just me, pretty much - nobody else left so much as a comment on her journal (though yes, two people said she was a plagiarizing bitch on twitter, but they weren't even on my flist, whom I'd asked to not make a big deal out of it - and no, they weren't polite, but I wasn't exactly weeping into my pillow over how wronged Shelly was there). And of course I actually wasn't so crazy as to think that other shippers couldn't be allowed to have their own community. I kind of think if both sides kept themselves busier writing fic and making art and creating fanmixes then we'd have less wank all around. I just wanted her to stop copying everything I did ever. And I did have dates on my screencaps...
But nobody ever linked to my post with the screencaps and the dates to properly demonstrate how I had so cruelly run Shelly off the internets for no reason except that she dared to make a Clois community on the same side of the internet as me, and what a messed-up troll I was. :(
And strangely, the anonymice at Journalfen who were so up in arms over poor Shelly being RUN OFF THE INTERNET FOREVAR by the evil Chloe fans, never replied to others' comments linking my post and suggesting that she'd bahleeted over that, instead of evil Chloefen trolling. I guess not a single one of them saw it! :(
But hey, Shelly had bahleeted. I wasn't going to incite a crazy Lois-vs-Chloe shipper war on my LJ over a journal that no longer even existed.
Oh, and just to be clear: I also am positiveshelly505's flist at large had no clue what was going on. I've interacted with some people on her flist in the past and they've always been cool to me (and now that it's turning into a big deal this week, people who were on her flist are coming out of the woodwork saying that they had no idea). I've never had cause to suspect that she was snickering at me from behind f-lock. She was very, very bad at hiding how much she was copying from my journal, yet she seemed to want to hide it so her flist would not catch on.
But the above post suggests that some Lois fans at least were told part of the truth. I also think at least one of Shelly's fellowclois_daily mods knew the whole story, because while Shelly was still in between journals, someone else quietly edited the comm's interest list to remove the stuff copypasted from my own.
And I would imagine at least one wanky Lois fan saw my post linked at wank_report, but if they did, I guess nobody cared because it was a Chloiser who was had the problem. The long and short of it was that while my post was advertised, no Lois fan ever made any public comment regarding the matter that I could find, except for the post above, where in the comments there was much wringing of hands.
So it appeared the public reaction to Shelly's bahleetion from the Loisfen's side was thus: POOR, POOR SHELLY. WHY IS SHE SUCH A VICTIM OF THE MEAN GIRLS? LEAVE SHELLY ALOOOOOOONE! COME BACK, SHELLY! :(
So, on October 27th, a week after her bahleetion, with no visible fallout on the Loisfen end to speak of, an undeterred Shelly created theinklane journal and went right back to ripping me off immediately, albeit with slightly more subtlety and now under f-lock. She declared her journal was locked "to stop trolling," lest we forget that HER OLD JOURNAL WAS DELETED BECAUSE OF EVIL CHLOE FANS TROLLING IT RELENTLESSLY. (Except for how more than one of us had been regularly refreshing shelly505's LJ before bahleetion to see how she reacted to my post, and nobody commented over there. At all. If Shelly has caps of abuse from Chloisers, then I will apologize and admit I was wrong, but I'm pretty sure she's making a lot of noise about nothing.)
But even under f-lock she was still really bad at hiding how she was continuing to rip me off, so my second post calling her out with screencaps followed last month.
She still didn't respond, except for locking down the few public posts she'd made, locking her scrapbook, bahleeting her graphics journal, and deleting the icons from her userpics that I had pointed out were slavishly and creepily identical to my own (so she obviously read my post and was still checking my journal daily like a creepy creeper).
Still, even as Chloefen made noise about it, nobody from the Loisfen camp apparently noticed what was going on (or, perhaps more likely in the case of the wankiest people, didn't care, because it was a Chloiser's problem).
Until a few days ago, another Cloiser,_touched, got badmouthed by inklane on twitter, posted about it on her LJ, and a mutual friend of ours was like, "I'm not surprised, that chick has pulled all kinds of crazy shit," and _touched asked what she meant.
She was sent over to my posts about the matter, which she found enlightening and not at all cool, and I gather she PM'ed roughly every Clois fan under the sun the links whether they wanted to hear about it or not.
And theninklane bahleeted yesterday, again. She's kept her twitter this time, though. Now we wait to see if she'll resurface again with a new journal, and, if she's really determined to keep going with this, maybe a thrilling story about how this bahleetion is once again all the fault of evil Chlarker trolls!
The question I've been asking myself since this whole thing started is: why?
I've said it before, but her crazy slavish copying of my non-srs-bzness fanart and stuff doesn't so much piss me off in terms of OMG SOMEONE MADE AN ICON THAT LOOKS LIKE MIIIIINE IT'S THE END OF THE WOOOOOORLD PITY ME AND GIVE ME ATTENTION OVER MY 100x100 PIXELS CHLOE MAFIAAAAAAA :( as it does 1) just plain creep me out that one person would watch my journal so obsessively as to copypaste the most inanely mundane things like my icon keywords or my tags, and 2) annoy the hell out of me that she keeps stirring up shit and then playing victim when people get pissed at her.
I really can't say why she did all this, though I'm left wondering if she set out to make existing shipper war tension worse, and paint herself a martyr, in order to gain pity and attention from certain fans or BNFs on the side she wanted to court. But since so much of her journal was locked, I really can't say, or know how successful she was, so this is just my crazy conspiracy theory. I'm good at those, what with being a Chloiser and all. :P Maybe someone who was on her flist could guess why she did it better than I can.
Also, it's not my intention to say that the Chloefen are pure as the driven snow in the grand scheme of things in the shipper war. As was said in the comments of the last post, Chloe mafia members are generally willing to take responsibility for the wanky things we've done (even my making this post is admittedly pretty wanky; I still can't believe this hasn't made f_w). But Shelly made noise about Chloefen doing stuff they haven't, which grates. The accusations of the virus plot, and of how Chloisers have forced Lois fans minding their own business to delete their journals, have continued to be made thrown around after the fact. I think both sides have been wanky enough that we don't need to resort to making stuff up when throwing dirt, because let's face it, we're not exactly hurting for material here, guys.
Not, of course, that I think my post here will stop anyone from continuing to rant about those things. I've kinda surmised so far that the wankiest of the Loisfen will be hard pressed to admit that one of their own could ever do anything wrong, because that would go against the narrative they love to project (all Loisfen are sugar and light and have their hair braided by cartoon birds every morning, while the Chloisers are full of HATE and DELUSIONAL CRAZY, like the KKK/scientologists/Hilter/those mean girls in high school/BINGO!). I mean, someone might sell her down the river now just to save face, now that this has finally exploded after all these months, as now it seems to be getting to be pretty open knowledge and not just something the uppermost wanky echelons of the Chloe-vs-Lois camps are flipping over amongst themselves. But nobody uttered a word about it before.
Though, really, I can't actually complain much, because I was so miffed over all of this drama that I just got more determined to have more fun and be more creative in SV fandom, and have actually had a pretty awesome time since S9 started, even while I'm not really feeling the show as much. So it all *~happened for a reason~*! Yaaaay! Chloe mafia group hug!
And I hope this is the end of this saga, at least where I'm concerned. *crosses fingers* But I'm sure it's just a matter of time untilinklane pops up again with a new journal; it just remains to be seen if next time she stops ripping me off (or finally learns how to cover her tracks from the prying eyes of plucky girl detectives).

Now between that, other word-of-mouth reports from people without caps and from people on her flist who've contacted me, I think Shelly has now claimed to be 16, 17, and 18, all at the same time. Though since her birthday was listed as in October, she should be anywhere from 17 to 19 at this point.
WTF. I mean, her LJ had existed for years, you would think her longtime friends would notice if she kept getting younger...? I'm really confused now.
ETA THE SECOND: Oh, dear.
Apparently it turns out that Shelly and her friends have long been telling people of my evil ways, and how I am a known harasser of Cloisers.
I feel kind of flattered that they think I'm important enough to talk about! I never knew! Maybe I can get lipgloss or an iPod out of Chloisers now!
The only comms I post SV material at (besides, last summer, my own challenge comm) are linking to my journal posts atfandom_picspams and picspammy. I've never left comments, sane, wanky, or otherwise in past wanky throwdowns. I've never even posted a friendly comment in the journal of a Cloiser who I wasn't already on good terms with, to my knowledge, because after all this I'm slightly paranoid of the potential crazy. When Cloisers come to my journal leaving rude comments, I ignore them and don't reply.
And I never linked to my first two posts about Shelly's copying anywhere, or asked anyone to do so. So even if calling someone on their shit counts as *~harassment~*, the only way a Cloiser could have found said posts is IF THEY WERE STALKING MY JOURNAL OBSESSIVELY IN THE FIRST PLACE.
You almost have to admire the groundwork this chick is apparently putting in to make me look like a hater who's just gotta hate, all so she can be allowed to keep on COPYING 100x100 ICONS AND PICSPAMS. From SMALLVILLE. The show with a fake baby. The underground railroad plot twist. Hepatic disease of the liver. French kryptonian witches from China. Did I mention the fake baby?
I know I'm probably taking it too seriously myself in writing this post and continuing to pay attention to the wank, but I just can't look away. :( I still cannot believe anyone would go to this much trouble over ICONS AND PICSPAMS.
Also, now hearing that multiple people are in on this, apparently, this just makes me inclined to believe that my Msscribe-type theory about Shelly doing this to get access to some Loisfen *~inner circle~* holds water. With links and info multiple people have been dropping me the past few days, I'm starting to wonder if this whole thing wasn't even Shelly's idea, and someone asked her to do it in exchange for BNF VIP treatment. I have no idea how I was awarded such importance as a fandom lurker - maybe they thought because I'm quiet and don't get that involved, I wouldn't even notice it.
Because the thing that's always baffled me about this, from the very first post, is how some parts of the copying plot seemed decently thought-out, and yet Shelly was always terrible at hiding them. I always was questioning if she was deliberately trolling, yet every time she's gotten called out, she's bahleeted. Honestly, if Shelly hadn't been dumb enough to post in the same community as me with virtually identical posts, I never would have noticed her at all and she would still be enjoying her rise to BNF-dom in her old LJ now. And based on her actions during the kerfluffle with me, I think she probably lacked the smarts to come up with the rickroll virus on her own.
I have no idea if I'll ever find the answer, but hey, I am a delusional Chloiser, so...if there is a fandom conspiracy, goodness knows I'll be having fun trying to unravel it.
In the meantime, I shall now, obviously, flounce off to spread my delusional Chlois agenda of hatred across the internets like the KKK-adoring, Hilter-sympathizing, mean girl I am.

I actually had no idea it would be this tl;dr - I didn't really try to put everything together in one place until this week. Obviously this tale comes with a really heavy Chloe-mafia bias, so more neutral parties may feel free to take my opinions and theories with a huge grain of salt. There's been other, different, also crazy wank that sometimes overlaps with this, but I don't have caps to back up anything else since I haven't been actively involved with wank outside this. So I'm trying to leave other Chloefen-vs-Loisfen wanks alone, and focus only on unraveling the tangled web
inklane has woven. If we can keep any resulting discussion focused on what inklane did and not the rest of the crazy, that would be cool. I think this is wanky enough on its lonesome.If I got any of the events wrong, please correct me in the comments. Since I wasn't a part of the drama from before she started stalking my journal, I had no reason to cap it, so some of these caps I've gotten from friends who were involved in those kerfluffles.
The first time I think the Chloe mafia took notice of Shelly was due to her involvement in the "Chlarkers are just like the KKK" wank from April of last year. She wasn't the one who made the post, just one of the Lois fans who weighed in and defended it. Unfortunately the caps of the comments have since been deleted at the entry, and I neglected to save them (darn my faith in f_w's archival skills!), but after the next thing hit people were like, "Isn't that the chick who was in the KKK wank?" So that was the first kerfluffle, to my knowledge - since the caps have disappeared, there's not much point to mentioning it except to demonstrate she was not exactly highly sympathetic to Chlarkers from the start.
(And when I say Chlarkers, I more or less mean Chloisers, as
shelly505 was apparently fine with having multishippers on her list as long as they also shipped Clois. She took care to say that she knew it wasn't any of the Chlarkers on HER flist who were evil troublemakers. As long as you shipped Clois too, it was cool.)After that, the next time she caused Chloe mafia ripples was the "virus" wank on August 31st, 2009.
She made the following public post:

She then goes on to explain how there was a chat for Lois fans (which was publicly advertised on twitter) and it was infiltrated by an anonymous person, who sent a virus to everyone in the chatroom disguised as links to Lois stills for a new Smallville episode.
Though Shelly states she wasn't even in the chat.

Which Shelly confirmed downthread in her own post's comments, but then persists in calling it a virus. And, of course, others have followed suit since and referred to the "virus spreading" as a standing example of the Chloefen's evil.
Okay, time out. Let me say here:
I really do not believe it was a member of the Chloe mafia who did this.
It was, apparently, a RICKROLL VIDEO THAT OPENED UP POPUPS. Why wouldn't you confess to the terrible sin of rickrolling?
The Lois fans themselves admitted in the above posts that no damage was done to the computers of a single person in chat, because it was a video that opened up a bunch of popups. Yet they went on loudly calling it a virus, and blaming the Chloe fans for their virus-spreading conspiracy.
The above posts are all I know. They haven't shared proof, so obviously it goes both ways that I have no proof to vindicate anyone. While it was an open chat that was advertised, I admit that chances are against it being just some random troll from the main twitter live feed who strolled in, if they took the trouble to have a story about having links to new stills for an upcoming episode.
But the main reason I don't think it was one of us?
Is because the Chloe mafia is gossipy as all hell, and someone would have talked by now. For sure.
If one of us went to all the trouble of infiltrating a DI chat to plant a RICKROLL VIDEO DISGUISED AS STILLS (which...rickrolling? really?), I am pretty sure they would have spoken up by now considering how much wank this has sparked. If only to say more loudly, as Lois fans themselves have admitted more quietly, that it was a pop-up video and not a virus.
And even if someone didn't come forward publicly, I'm pretty sure they would have whispered, "Yeah, I admit it, I totally rickrolled the Loisfen chat for the lulz! I told them it was Lois stills, but it was NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UUUUUP..." And since no harm was done, no doubt the Chloe mafia would be like, "YOU HAVE DAMAGED THE CLOISERS SO TERRIBLY BY DEPRIVING THEM OF LOIS STILLS AND REPLACING THEM WITH RICK ASTLEY! CRITICAL HIT TO THEIR HP! OH, HOW WE SHALL CHUCKLE OVER THE LOISFEN'S SUFFERING! TEE HEE HEE! ...ALL RIGHT, ENOUGH CHUCKLING OVER THE PAIN OF THE LOISFEN, LET US DISCUSS OUR PLANS FOR THE SACRIFICES TO SATAN OVER THE WEEKEND." (This is, obviously, exactly what private Chloe mafia conversations sound like.) And from there the word would spread through the mafia grapevine.
Except nobody has ever said they did it, publicly or privately. Yeah, it's my word against the world's, but it's the truth.
So I figure either it was a *~Chloe fan gone rogue~* who wasn't in the mafia clique, or a Lois fan made a sockpuppet and did it themselves to cause drama and panic (which, considering that it was a harmless video that opened up a bunch of popups, and yet wanky Loisfen were screaming VIIIIIIRUS! all over and still use the VIIIIIRUS! as evidence of their superiority in other wanky arguments, is frankly what I find more likely. But obviously, given the reasons I'm making this post in the first place, I'm pretty grudgey AND paranoid where crazy Loisfen are concerned now, so my judgment is questionable). But nobody has any IP info, so we'll probably never know.
And anyway, I know it's a lost cause; the Chloiser virus will live in fandom urban legend infamy forevermore. Moving on.

There were rumblings of the virus thing making it onto f_w. At that, apparently
shelly505 made a public post loudly and pointedly announcing that she was ONLY SIXTEEN (or: I know I'm being super wanky, so I'll pretend to be younger than I am to avoid f_w!). I've been told someone took caps of it and another separate, previous post she stated she was 18, but the person with the caps has thus far been unreachable; if I get the caps I'll edit them in later. And Shelly never had her birth year listed on her profile for as long as I've watched her journal. (I definitely don't think she's a sockpuppet, though; her shelly505 journal had existed for years and had hundreds of entries, if mostly flocked, so it seemed legit. Which is why I was so surprised when she was later so quick to bahleete without a fight.)Okay. Up until now, I had been staying out of all of the wank, though I had heard about most of the drama (see: Chloe mafia being gossipy as hell). I'm a reader of f_w, not a star of the wank reports, normally. But this is where my involvement began.
Until last summer I rarely posted outside my own LJ or flist about anything regarding SV. Still don't, picspams aside, because if you haven't noticed, this fandom is INSANE and I also don't exactly take the show wildly seriously. I was content to hear about the crazy from my flist without experiencing it firsthand.
I was so low-profile that I would question how my journal even came to Shelly's attention in the first place, except for that last summer I ran a Chloe summer challenge community with a Chloiser slant, called
up_away. It was a pro-Chlois comm, though I took care to remind people regularly that entries were to focus on Chloe only (i.e. not to be anti-Lois). I was still slightly naïve about the crazy at the time, and thought as long as I emphasized that the comm was positive in tone and not about character bashing, then there would be no problems with it being an open comm. Nevertheless, community posts provided mocking material for the people at
antichlois. shelly505 was among those who got a giggle, so obviously she knew of my comm by August 25th at the latest:Around the middle of October, I had finally taken notice that Shelly had been ripping me off and was being a creeper (due to her questionable judgment in posting her copied handiwork to the same community as me). It hadn't registered with me that she was the same girl from the virus kerfluffle because she had locked that post, so I posted about the issue under f-lock and asked my flist if they agreed that what she was doing was creepy. Everyone said, "That's the chick who told Chlarkers to fuck off in the virus wank! And yes, she's being creepy!" After being told how she'd reacted to
marikology's comment, I was like, "Okay, politely reasoning with her seems like it's not really an option here," and so after she continued to copy more and more, I called her out with screencaps on October 21st. I know that Shelly knew of my LJ since June 2009, and based off the material she had copypasted, I strongly suspect the copying probably began around July, but I have no way of proving it after the bahleetion (as I never thought the wank would get this far and that there would be a need to cap her ENTIRE LJ BACK THEN). But it is my belief that the creepiness began before the virus wank in August, not that the copying was something she did out of "revenge" (especially since I had no involvement in the virus wank whatsoever). Which, if I'm right, makes the virus wank even wankier, if she was already obsessively journal-stalking and ripping off a Chloiser, at the time of her post accusing Chlarkers/Chloisers of spreading a
Within 24 hours of my post calling her out,
shelly505, her graphics journal, her twitter account, and her YouTube account were all deleted.However, the PL fiasco went down that same week, so Shelly's bahleetion got less attention than it might have otherwise. I'm not touching the PL thing and I really don't want to rehash that crazy here. But it's relevant because at Journalfen's wank_report, while anonymice were also weighing in on the "virus," they were also saying how Chloefen had run Shelly off Livejournal and linked to this post as their proof. Which is only of interest to me because it includes a fraction of the truth:

Part of me wants to check the dates on this Chlois_Daily (although how the hell do they have enough material to make a chlois_DAILY, I want to know). They really are just grasping at straws. They just won't leave her alone at all, will they? I just wish I knew a way to keep them from doing this.
Of course, it wasn't the whole Chloe mafia going after
shelly505. It was just me, pretty much - nobody else left so much as a comment on her journal (though yes, two people said she was a plagiarizing bitch on twitter, but they weren't even on my flist, whom I'd asked to not make a big deal out of it - and no, they weren't polite, but I wasn't exactly weeping into my pillow over how wronged Shelly was there). And of course I actually wasn't so crazy as to think that other shippers couldn't be allowed to have their own community. I kind of think if both sides kept themselves busier writing fic and making art and creating fanmixes then we'd have less wank all around. I just wanted her to stop copying everything I did ever. And I did have dates on my screencaps...But nobody ever linked to my post with the screencaps and the dates to properly demonstrate how I had so cruelly run Shelly off the internets for no reason except that she dared to make a Clois community on the same side of the internet as me, and what a messed-up troll I was. :(
And strangely, the anonymice at Journalfen who were so up in arms over poor Shelly being RUN OFF THE INTERNET FOREVAR by the evil Chloe fans, never replied to others' comments linking my post and suggesting that she'd bahleeted over that, instead of evil Chloefen trolling. I guess not a single one of them saw it! :(
But hey, Shelly had bahleeted. I wasn't going to incite a crazy Lois-vs-Chloe shipper war on my LJ over a journal that no longer even existed.
Oh, and just to be clear: I also am positive
shelly505's flist at large had no clue what was going on. I've interacted with some people on her flist in the past and they've always been cool to me (and now that it's turning into a big deal this week, people who were on her flist are coming out of the woodwork saying that they had no idea). I've never had cause to suspect that she was snickering at me from behind f-lock. She was very, very bad at hiding how much she was copying from my journal, yet she seemed to want to hide it so her flist would not catch on.But the above post suggests that some Lois fans at least were told part of the truth. I also think at least one of Shelly's fellow
clois_daily mods knew the whole story, because while Shelly was still in between journals, someone else quietly edited the comm's interest list to remove the stuff copypasted from my own.And I would imagine at least one wanky Lois fan saw my post linked at wank_report, but if they did, I guess nobody cared because it was a Chloiser who was had the problem. The long and short of it was that while my post was advertised, no Lois fan ever made any public comment regarding the matter that I could find, except for the post above, where in the comments there was much wringing of hands.
So it appeared the public reaction to Shelly's bahleetion from the Loisfen's side was thus: POOR, POOR SHELLY. WHY IS SHE SUCH A VICTIM OF THE MEAN GIRLS? LEAVE SHELLY ALOOOOOOONE! COME BACK, SHELLY! :(
So, on October 27th, a week after her bahleetion, with no visible fallout on the Loisfen end to speak of, an undeterred Shelly created the
inklane journal and went right back to ripping me off immediately, albeit with slightly more subtlety and now under f-lock. She declared her journal was locked "to stop trolling," lest we forget that HER OLD JOURNAL WAS DELETED BECAUSE OF EVIL CHLOE FANS TROLLING IT RELENTLESSLY. (Except for how more than one of us had been regularly refreshing shelly505's LJ before bahleetion to see how she reacted to my post, and nobody commented over there. At all. If Shelly has caps of abuse from Chloisers, then I will apologize and admit I was wrong, but I'm pretty sure she's making a lot of noise about nothing.) But even under f-lock she was still really bad at hiding how she was continuing to rip me off, so my second post calling her out with screencaps followed last month.
She still didn't respond, except for locking down the few public posts she'd made, locking her scrapbook, bahleeting her graphics journal, and deleting the icons from her userpics that I had pointed out were slavishly and creepily identical to my own (so she obviously read my post and was still checking my journal daily like a creepy creeper).
Still, even as Chloefen made noise about it, nobody from the Loisfen camp apparently noticed what was going on (or, perhaps more likely in the case of the wankiest people, didn't care, because it was a Chloiser's problem).
Until a few days ago, another Cloiser,
_touched, got badmouthed by inklane on twitter, posted about it on her LJ, and a mutual friend of ours was like, "I'm not surprised, that chick has pulled all kinds of crazy shit," and _touched asked what she meant. She was sent over to my posts about the matter, which she found enlightening and not at all cool, and I gather she PM'ed roughly every Clois fan under the sun the links whether they wanted to hear about it or not.
And then
inklane bahleeted yesterday, again. She's kept her twitter this time, though. Now we wait to see if she'll resurface again with a new journal, and, if she's really determined to keep going with this, maybe a thrilling story about how this bahleetion is once again all the fault of evil Chlarker trolls! The question I've been asking myself since this whole thing started is: why?
I've said it before, but her crazy slavish copying of my non-srs-bzness fanart and stuff doesn't so much piss me off in terms of OMG SOMEONE MADE AN ICON THAT LOOKS LIKE MIIIIINE IT'S THE END OF THE WOOOOOORLD PITY ME AND GIVE ME ATTENTION OVER MY 100x100 PIXELS CHLOE MAFIAAAAAAA :( as it does 1) just plain creep me out that one person would watch my journal so obsessively as to copypaste the most inanely mundane things like my icon keywords or my tags, and 2) annoy the hell out of me that she keeps stirring up shit and then playing victim when people get pissed at her.
I really can't say why she did all this, though I'm left wondering if she set out to make existing shipper war tension worse, and paint herself a martyr, in order to gain pity and attention from certain fans or BNFs on the side she wanted to court. But since so much of her journal was locked, I really can't say, or know how successful she was, so this is just my crazy conspiracy theory. I'm good at those, what with being a Chloiser and all. :P Maybe someone who was on her flist could guess why she did it better than I can.
Also, it's not my intention to say that the Chloefen are pure as the driven snow in the grand scheme of things in the shipper war. As was said in the comments of the last post, Chloe mafia members are generally willing to take responsibility for the wanky things we've done (even my making this post is admittedly pretty wanky; I still can't believe this hasn't made f_w). But Shelly made noise about Chloefen doing stuff they haven't, which grates. The accusations of the virus plot, and of how Chloisers have forced Lois fans minding their own business to delete their journals, have continued to be made thrown around after the fact. I think both sides have been wanky enough that we don't need to resort to making stuff up when throwing dirt, because let's face it, we're not exactly hurting for material here, guys.
Not, of course, that I think my post here will stop anyone from continuing to rant about those things. I've kinda surmised so far that the wankiest of the Loisfen will be hard pressed to admit that one of their own could ever do anything wrong, because that would go against the narrative they love to project (all Loisfen are sugar and light and have their hair braided by cartoon birds every morning, while the Chloisers are full of HATE and DELUSIONAL CRAZY, like the KKK/scientologists/Hilter/those mean girls in high school/BINGO!). I mean, someone might sell her down the river now just to save face, now that this has finally exploded after all these months, as now it seems to be getting to be pretty open knowledge and not just something the uppermost wanky echelons of the Chloe-vs-Lois camps are flipping over amongst themselves. But nobody uttered a word about it before.
Though, really, I can't actually complain much, because I was so miffed over all of this drama that I just got more determined to have more fun and be more creative in SV fandom, and have actually had a pretty awesome time since S9 started, even while I'm not really feeling the show as much. So it all *~happened for a reason~*! Yaaaay! Chloe mafia group hug!
And I hope this is the end of this saga, at least where I'm concerned. *crosses fingers* But I'm sure it's just a matter of time until
inklane pops up again with a new journal; it just remains to be seen if next time she stops ripping me off (or finally learns how to cover her tracks from the prying eyes of plucky girl detectives). Third time's the charm?

inklane, you were supposed to be trying to convince people you were a teenage minor, not FIVE.Now between that, other word-of-mouth reports from people without caps and from people on her flist who've contacted me, I think Shelly has now claimed to be 16, 17, and 18, all at the same time. Though since her birthday was listed as in October, she should be anywhere from 17 to 19 at this point.
WTF. I mean, her LJ had existed for years, you would think her longtime friends would notice if she kept getting younger...? I'm really confused now.

Apparently it turns out that Shelly and her friends have long been telling people of my evil ways, and how I am a known harasser of Cloisers.

The only comms I post SV material at (besides, last summer, my own challenge comm) are linking to my journal posts at
fandom_picspams and picspammy. I've never left comments, sane, wanky, or otherwise in past wanky throwdowns. I've never even posted a friendly comment in the journal of a Cloiser who I wasn't already on good terms with, to my knowledge, because after all this I'm slightly paranoid of the potential crazy. When Cloisers come to my journal leaving rude comments, I ignore them and don't reply. And I never linked to my first two posts about Shelly's copying anywhere, or asked anyone to do so. So even if calling someone on their shit counts as *~harassment~*, the only way a Cloiser could have found said posts is IF THEY WERE STALKING MY JOURNAL OBSESSIVELY IN THE FIRST PLACE.
You almost have to admire the groundwork this chick is apparently putting in to make me look like a hater who's just gotta hate, all so she can be allowed to keep on COPYING 100x100 ICONS AND PICSPAMS. Also, now hearing that multiple people are in on this, apparently, this just makes me inclined to believe that my Msscribe-type theory about Shelly doing this to get access to some Loisfen *~inner circle~* holds water. With links and info multiple people have been dropping me the past few days, I'm starting to wonder if this whole thing wasn't even Shelly's idea, and someone asked her to do it in exchange for BNF VIP treatment. I have no idea how I was awarded such importance as a fandom lurker - maybe they thought because I'm quiet and don't get that involved, I wouldn't even notice it.
Because the thing that's always baffled me about this, from the very first post, is how some parts of the copying plot seemed decently thought-out, and yet Shelly was always terrible at hiding them. I always was questioning if she was deliberately trolling, yet every time she's gotten called out, she's bahleeted. Honestly, if Shelly hadn't been dumb enough to post in the same community as me with virtually identical posts, I never would have noticed her at all and she would still be enjoying her rise to BNF-dom in her old LJ now. And based on her actions during the kerfluffle with me, I think she probably lacked the smarts to come up with the rickroll virus on her own.
I have no idea if I'll ever find the answer, but hey, I am a delusional Chloiser, so...if there is a fandom conspiracy, goodness knows I'll be having fun trying to unravel it.
In the meantime, I shall now, obviously, flounce off to spread my delusional Chlois agenda of hatred across the internets like the KKK-adoring, Hilter-sympathizing, mean girl I am.
