I thought it was honestly more OOC for Clark to refuse than for her to ask. "OH NO I SCREWED UP IT IS ALL MY FAULT I GOTTA GO DO SOMETHING STUPID TO TRY AND FIX IT WHOOPS MADE IT WORSE CHLOEEEEE HEEEEELP!" is pretty much a normal day for Clark. I thought he was right to refuse, but if Clark were acting normally right now I think his usual reaction would have been, "Do something reckless, stupid, and totally dangerous to save Jimmy? HELL YEAH! ...NO, WE DON'T NEED A PLAN. EVERYONE KNOWS PLANS ARE FOR SISSIES, CHLOE."

Yeeees. My favorite part of the hospital scene in Arrival is when she asks if Lana knows. Chloe didn't care about the Lana factor after that much, because she had a part of him Lana couldn't touch.

And the impression from Abyss was that she has basically been telling herself, "It's okay if I lost my dream, because saving the world with Clark is more important." Except now she's lost her dream and Clark has kicked her to the curb, and Clark has to just keep twisting the knife by confiding in Lois instead. I really didn't think there was anything left to take away from her after Failsday, but they found it. Everything that made Chloe who she was has pretty much been ripped away from her by force.
