Um. I actually only watched the Chloe scenes and Ollie being shirtless. And maybe all of the Tess stuff. And the relevant parts of the flashforward. I think. I am not quite sure I saw all of it because, uh. I covered my eyes.

I had the epiphany that while I am emotionally finished...

I really would miss the process of picspamming...?! IDK I LIKE DOING THIS. IT'S A RITUAL.

My priorities are not in check. I am aware of this.

But OMG YOU GUYSSSSS

YOU GUYSSSSSS

CLARK HAS BANGS AGAIN

I know everyone was like "ooooh he looks so Supermanly with his GIANT FOREHEAD" in S8 but I hated it. AND NOW HIS BANGS ARE BAAAACK. I think this is my favorite Clark haircut EVER?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

...Clark's hair is probably the only thing in the premiere I mustered up any real excitement for. Except for Ollie's jeans. (Mmmm.)

First: I did not cap it but omfg you have to be kidding me with that stupid Watchtower aerial shot. I want the FIRST THING LEX DOES WHEN HE COMES BACK to be that he buys that building out from under them and knocks it the fuck DOWN out of SPITE.

"THAT IS WHAT YOU GET FOR TRYING TO OUTDO MY PERSONAL PHALLIC SYMBOL, JUSTICE LEAGUE! EAT WRECKING BALL!" Or something.

Since they had no monies for establishing shots in Failsday, I always assumed it was...idk. On a hill off to the side. Like on the city outskirts or something. Not RIGHT DAB SMACK IN THE MIDDLE OF METROPOLIS TOWERING OVER THE PLANET AND LUTHORCORP. MAGICALLY APPEARING. WHAT IS THAT SHIT. THAT PLACE LOOKS OLD! LIKE IT USED TO BE A CHURCH! IT DID NOT JUST POP UP OVERNIGHT. WHAT THE FUCK. AND I'M ACTUALLY EXPENDING LOGIC ON THIS!

Thank you, Henry James "LA DEE DA JUST BOUGHT THE MOST EXPENSIVE PENTHOUSE PROPERTY IN METROPOLIS EVEN THOUGH I COULD NOT AFFORD TO SUPPORT MY SMACK HABIT" Olsen. (And now he ded from pole.)

I don't think Chloe's hair is long enough for the curls but homegirl's bangs are on FIRE. The cut, the highlighting, everything, it's working for me! If it gets straightened she will look super hot.

This was, flat out, the saddest part of the entire episode for me. And I thought the Chloe/Clark scenes were really sad so this is saying something.

Chloe finding out about Clark trading her in for a new model?

Fuck. Twist the knife a little more.

"Of course he does."

idk since everything is hopeless for her anyway I guess I'm pretty much fine with whatever gets Chloe laid and keeps a vapid smile on her face at the moment.

She needs to get her fucking life together, but I know the writers will never let that happen. My personal thoughts on Doctor Gaeta are pretty much, "I would so tap that," so go get it girl.

Except I was also fine with Jimmy as a temporary short-term basis thing and look how THAT worked out, and I was joyous over Davis and look how THAT worked out, and I really like Doctor Gaeta but at this point I have no hope left.

In closing, if they're Going There anyway, then please Chloe, just get some good sex out of it before he inevitably turns evil or to not be the REALLY REAL DOCTOR EMIL HAMILTON (THIRD DOCTOR HAMILTON'S THE CHARM ON SMALLVILLE), mmkay?

I know this sounds creepy, but I think Tess looks prettiest after she's had the crap beaten out of her...?

I really don't like her Evil Updo Of Evil or when her makeup is too heavy, but when she's all bloodied and bruised they leave her hair all natural and her makeup light and she looks super pretty?!?! I thought she looked the most gorgeous in the hospital in "Eternal."

idk. I feel creepy being like YAY TESS GOT THE CRAP BEATEN OUT OF HER AGAIN, SO PRETTY! But when they used to really just cake the makeup on with KK, I thought the same thing. I can't help it SV's makeup is ridiculous.

I don't really buy Callum. I love him, but miscast. It seemed like such a bizarre casting choice that I was really curious about how it would turn out, but it's about as awkward as I thought it would be.

I liked the line about how he would have preyed on her emotional vulnerabilities. Since that is how Tess likes to roll herself. So they could make a cute teamup for evil. But should Zod really be like, "OOH EMOTIONAL VULNERABILITIES"? No. Beat the crap out of someone and make them kneel!

OH RIGHT YOU CAN'T BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO POWERS AND ARE LAME. I FORGOT.

This storyline looks impossibly dull. No powers and no purpose? Thrilling. The only thing that made me perk up is knowing there's another puppetmaster, but since this is SV who knows if they'll ever be revealed. Yawn. Lex, the three millionth backup plan from Brainiac, or someone else? We'll probably never know.

I miss Davis...

The main reason I already miss Davis, besides his awesome? Because they still haven't solved the problem of last year of nailing down what is UP with both their leads emotionally. Davis last year was the anchor in a sea of terrible, inconsistent characterization for all the main characters (except Ollie, who was consistently an asshole). Davis was the one thing consistent from beginning until the aaaaaalmost-end. Now he's gone, and Chloe and Clark's relationship as we knew it doesn't exist anymore, so what is our anchor now?

I was hyped after seeing Chloe in the promo, since I thought it would be like "Phoenix," and she was gonna chew him out. But that would require Chloe having some shred of self-respect left. Silly me.

Here she tells him he is doing the right thing. That she doesn't matter in the big picture. And, basically, she tells him it's okay that he ditched her because she always knew he would someday.

Are we really supposed to believe that Chloe is so destroyed that she has thrown away everything for Clark, all the while believing that he'd cast her aside when he finally fulfilled his destiny? I felt like I was watching "Vessel" again when Lana tells Lex that Clark is planning to kill him, and Lex just sort of absorbs it quietly and nods in that, "Of course he is. I've seen that coming for a while now," way.

Except with Lex it felt earned. With Chloe, the only thing to set that up is "Hex," and I guess the moral of the story in that episode really was that Chloe's own life truly no longer matters to her at all anymore, and she's just going to keep throwing everything away for Clark, until she has nothing left to give.

The way her voice cracked at the very last second when she asked him about Lois was too much. Fuck that. I cannot handle it.

I don't get what is up with Clark here. I actually dug the second scene because I could sympathize with him there. Here I just think he should be deeply ashamed of himself, and I kind of feel like he is underneath from how sad TW's performance was here. But if he doesn't do anything about it, then what's the use.

I'm disappointed with Chloe for enabling him, but I don't think yelling at him would accomplish anything either since he's not in the mood to listen to her. I have no suggestions for these two right now.

...

OKAY NOW LET'S GO PADDLE IN THE SHALLOW END OF THE POOL

Nnnnnngh could those jeans be any more low-slung.

HIS UNDERWEAR IS FROM ABERCROMBIIIIIIE IN CASE YOU WERE WONDERING. THANK YOU HI-DEFINITION

These two make each other tolerable. I need more of them together.

Her crazy eyes were even more jarring coming off this scene where they were both acting like, you know, um, human and really likable? Her "IT'S THE BLURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! I AM SO TURNED ON BY A SCRAMBLED VOICE AND A RANDOM WHOOSH OF AIR! SO MUCH SEXIER THAN THE SHIRTLESS MANCANDY I HAVE IN FRONT OF ME TRYING TO GET INTO MY PANTS!" crazy eyes are killing me. Tone it the fuck down, ED.

We now return to your regularly scheduled dose of PAAAAIN.

"Whose destiny? Not Jimmy's. You and I both know that.
He didn't deserve to die!
Clark, he died because you and I both screwed up!
Because we made a mistake!
And now you have to fix it!"

"I'm not a god!
And the last time that I tried to rewrite fate,
my own father died!
He died right here in my arms,
because of me."

"I've given up so much for you, Clark.
This is the only thing I've ever asked from you.
Please. Please do this for me.
Please save Jimmy."

"I can't."

"It's good...
It's good that you're embracing your Kryptonian side.
There isn't really anything human left in you."

I don't believe that Clark will ever stop being emo, so since it has to be SOMETHING, I prefer the apocalypse over Jimmy since they weren't even really friends. Though probably Clark will forget about both by next week so whatev. (Obviously he will still remember to be a jerk to Chloe though, even if he doesn't remember WHY.)

Clark's comment about being a time bomb was ow. A reply from Chloe about being his personal bomb squad would have probably solved everything for me with those two. Too bad.

Clark was right to refuse and Chloe was human to ask.

This scene had more humanity than I expected to see from Clark this episode. and was a pleasant surprise in terms of characterization for him. They've trotted out Jonathan's death so many times and of late it's felt really cheap when they've mentioned it (Hex, Failsday) but this was very organic, especially how they brought in the watch. So I thought that was well-played. But Clark will probably be back to being a straight-out superdick next week, soooo forget him and let's get back to Chloe.

Chloe finally laying her cards on the table was such a relief. Acknowledging what she has lost was something I was really thankful for. Chloe's life has been going on a steady downward spiral for the past two and a half years and it's far past time she admitted it. But I don't feel like she's ready to pick up the pieces either so...whatever.

I don't know. I thought Failsday was her hitting rock bottom, but I am just not sure where she goes from here. I doubt she'll be really picking herself up.

And I know they do need each other in the long run. But actually recognizing how fucked Chloe's life is (and by extension how much he should help her) would require Clark to prioritize another human being's feelings over his guilt complex. I'm not holding my breath.

So I think they need time apart for a while, and it's looking like that's what they're gonna get. But I get the uncomfortable feeling that they won't do any better apart than they would together. Space seems totally necessary and yet a terrible idea, all at the same time. I'm expecting absolutely nothing decent out of this relationship until after November sweeps at the earliest.

IN CLOSING: HEY CLARK IF YOU END THE WORLD YOU WILL FINALLY GET LAID. SO EITHER WAY YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO. CHIN UP, SUPERDICK.

...

NOT THAT I CAPPED THAT. I WOULD NEVER. I DID NOT EVEN SEE IT. I COVERED MY EYES.

YES I AM SIX AND I DON'T CARE.

Yawn ripping off Heroes yawn. Didn't they get the memo that nobody even likes it when Heroes does it now?

That said, softcore porno aside, I am vaaaaguely looking forward to the inevitable AU future episode. If only because it looks hella pretty. Love the Planet in ruins behind Tess. That's awesome.

I just hope Lex shows up at the end to avert the apocalypse and bitchslaps Zod into the next century with some new kryptoweapon and then starts screaming at everyone: "I TOOOOOLD YOU SO! I TOOOOOLD YOU WE NEEDED TO BE READY FOR AN ALIEN INVASION BUT WOULD YOU LIIIIIISTEEEEEEN? NO YOU WOULD NOT."

Final verdict: fire bad bangs pretty.

[identity profile] peachmacaroons.livejournal.com 2009-09-29 01:48 pm (UTC)(link)
ughhh. i love you for this!

Clark was right to refuse and Chloe was human to ask.

THIS. SO MUCH THIS. I was trying to explain because I know a lot of people were like WTF Jimmy sucks, why would she ask that of him. But I felt like is was so INCharacter of her. You can see here a huge glimpse of how destroyed she is, the fact that she would even mention it to Clark shows that she has some equally giant guilt issues.

Also, I feel like while Lois's disappearance was tough for her, her coming back and telling Chloe she speaks to the Blur was a bigger blow. I didn't think they could kick her down anymore but ALAS! It... just, Lana never replaced Chloe, sure she was always beating Chloe in the battle for Clark's love but she could never, ever take her place in the BFF department and Lana knew that. The fact that Chloe's not even his "sidekick" anymore is possibly the worst thing ever. Now, not only has the job she ever wanted slipped from grasp, but the role she ever knew is gone too.

Spoilers about Chloe becoming all "ends justify the means" is believable. She's literally got nothing left.

I thought it was honestly more OOC for Clark to refuse than for her to ask. "OH NO I SCREWED UP IT IS ALL MY FAULT I GOTTA GO DO SOMETHING STUPID TO TRY AND FIX IT WHOOPS MADE IT WORSE CHLOEEEEE HEEEEELP!" is pretty much a normal day for Clark. I thought he was right to refuse, but if Clark were acting normally right now I think his usual reaction would have been, "Do something reckless, stupid, and totally dangerous to save Jimmy? HELL YEAH! ...NO, WE DON'T NEED A PLAN. EVERYONE KNOWS PLANS ARE FOR SISSIES, CHLOE."

Yeeees. My favorite part of the hospital scene in Arrival is when she asks if Lana knows. Chloe didn't care about the Lana factor after that much, because she had a part of him Lana couldn't touch.

And the impression from Abyss was that she has basically been telling herself, "It's okay if I lost my dream, because saving the world with Clark is more important." Except now she's lost her dream and Clark has kicked her to the curb, and Clark has to just keep twisting the knife by confiding in Lois instead. I really didn't think there was anything left to take away from her after Failsday, but they found it. Everything that made Chloe who she was has pretty much been ripped away from her by force.

[identity profile] babydee1.livejournal.com 2009-09-29 03:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Totally agree. Just when you think they can't possibly kick Chloe anymore, the find new levels of suck for the poor kid.

CLARK HAS BANGS AGAIN

Never change, Meimi. <3

Also, Chloe is preeeeetty.

HIS FOREHEAD WAS HUGE.

Yup. I'm glad she still has her looks, because she has absolutely nothing else going for her right now.

YAY! I was worried you might have packed your bags and left your abusive boyfriend for good, but I must be a masochist, because I'm so glad you didn't!

Love you, babes. I'm not watching this year, so your picspams are going to be my SV/Chlark fixes! And your witty reviews are such a delight. I think I like this show more from a distance - and from a fan point of view!

Thanks again, hun. Do you do icons, by any chance? :)

[identity profile] nyonyo.livejournal.com 2009-09-29 04:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I DID. I WASN'T EVEN GOING TO WATCH UNTIL MIDSEASON WHEN IT GOT CANCELED AND THEN I WOULD GO BACK TO DANCE ON ITS GRAVE IN REAL TIME. I was saying it YESTERDAY. Then I realized I missed the picspamming part even though I did not miss the show. My priorities, they need fixing.

I do icons at [livejournal.com profile] yumeiro but only post batches like once in a blue moon. If you just want to take the ones I have uploaded to my own userpics, I'm cool with that though (unless it's one of the few I have marked for private use in the keywords). :)

[identity profile] babydee1.livejournal.com 2009-10-06 10:04 am (UTC)(link)
That would be lovely, I'd be honoured to have any of your icons. If I do snag, I'll definitely credit you. Thanks so much! :)

Gorgeous picspam!

I don't think Chloe's hair is long enough for the curls but homegirl's bangs are on FIRE. The cut, the highlighting, everything, it's working for me! If it gets straightened she will look super hot.

I think that's what was off with the curls for me as well, why Allison always insists on cutting her hair so supershort I have no idea.

I don't really buy Callum. I love him, but miscast.

I should admit that I only watched the trailer and the Chloe clips so I probably shouldn't be commenting on him :P But just the way he was talking in the trailer about his army meh. He's a good actor for sure, but I like my SV villains a little more nuanced. I have no idea why so many people had problems with Davis, his struggles were a thousand times more interesting than a Zod who is totally one-dimensional and just wanting to create any army or whatever other plans he has. It just doesn't work for me in a season-long villain, and I don't see how viewers are going to connect with him the way that they did with Lex and Davis.

I was hyped after seeing Chloe in the promo, since I thought it would be like "Phoenix," and she was gonna chew him out. But that would require Chloe having some shred of self-respect left. Silly me

THIS! Chloe's line in the trailer about there being nothing human about Clark anymore actually got me pretty hyped as I thought it pointed to Chloe confronting Clark over his batman bullshit. It really disappointed me to have her ridiculous line on she always knew Clark would leave them one day (huh? Since when?) and to have her anger with Clark be more about Jimmy. I understood her asking Clark if he could changes things, who wouldn't ask if they knew that turning back time was a possibility after they had lost someone they loved, but I was disappointed with her lashing out at Clark's no as well. Clark abandoning Chloe right after she lost everything is what she SHOULD be angry with him about, so it feels like Chlark aren't even on bad terms for the right reasons

[identity profile] nyonyo.livejournal.com 2009-09-29 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I wish she'd let it grow out a smidge too. It looks fine from the front but it's still too short in the back so in profile her hair looks weird. The asymmetrical 'do was okay last year when it was straight (not my favorite but not a trainwreck either) but curled it looks weird.

He doesn't even have a plan. Basically, the Orb was not Zod. It's some puppetmaster yet to be revealed, who freed the army for whatever reason. Zod and his army are possibly clones created from before the war and made with no powers. They're basically going, "So! Hey! We have no idea what we're doing here, no goals, no purpose, no powers, no motivation! Uh! Let's...work on that!" There have been FotW more complex than that! Callum doesn't have the physical presence to coast by on just a cool aura for this part, and there's no motivation or goal in the writing thus far, so... Lex or Davis caliber, he is not.

I thought the exact same thing the first time I watched their two scenes, but the second time when I put on my fanwanking goggles I was more okay with it. I agree she should be reaming him out for his Batman bullshit and I was really excited to see that, but I think right now she's just totally stuck on being upset with herself for everything that went down. I'm not sure if she's even processing Clark's behavior yet. Hell, in the second scene, he's like, "Oh and the world is going to end in a year btw," and she doesn't even hear it in favor of talking about Jimmy.

I don't know. I found the writing definitely shaky, and neither of them are really acting like themselves, but I'm waiting to see how it rolls.

On the other hand, Chloe being upset at Lois moving in on her sidekick territory was unbelievably sad, but I was strangely encouraged by it. That was the first time in a while that Chloe has had any reaction at all to losing something. So I'm hoping they're going somewhere with that. If they're really trying to go somewhere with this rift, I'm along for the ride. If they're only stirring shit up with Chlark so Clois looks better, then this is all a waste. Wait and see, I guess.

[identity profile] frelling-tralk.livejournal.com 2009-09-29 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)

It bugged me towards the end of last season as well. It looked quite pretty from the front, but sooo off in side profile in moments like the Eternal stills

Thanks for the picspam. I love your commentary.

It's interesting that Clark always moaned about how his greatest power was hurting Lana, when it seems like all the jackass does is neglect Chloe, take her for granted, break her heart and crush her soul all while freely taking everything she does for him and gives to him without a second thought. While writing that I just started thinking about how mad I am at him. I just want so much for Chloe's life not to be all about sucking so much.

His bangs do look good.

[identity profile] nyonyo.livejournal.com 2009-09-29 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup, "jackass with awesome bangs" pretty much sums it up.

[identity profile] chiri-chan.livejournal.com 2009-09-29 05:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I think Chlark will continue to fight, but in a way I'm kind of happy about that. I don't think they are doing having their blow-outs at all; that should happen in the next episode as well I think (given that these were sent out as screeners).

I think it's obvious the dream is a total distopia, which is good then I think, for us. Again, Lex's awayness here totally doesn't work and I agree - CB doesn't have the it quality to inspire fear and trepidation the way SW would have (or MR and JG did).

The only thing about the entire "Chloe has to hear her replacement" is they are underlining heavilly whom is getting screwed over by Clark here - and that's Chloe. He's got a big hole to dig himself out of; I know some people think he's the Eradicator, but I think Jor-El is and we'll have to see him apologize for a mistake that is at least partially his own. OF course, that should be part and parcel of flipping it back around. Right now there is no future that leads to Superman.

IT's like they took that last plot from Legion onwards and are trying to squeeze another whole season out of it.

Beautiful pic spam tho.

[identity profile] nyonyo.livejournal.com 2009-09-30 09:37 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it's been so long that they've let her acknowledge how badly she's been getting screwed, so underlining it was the thing that really gave me a spark of hope they're going somewhere with this eventually.

The future stuff and all the meta I just really don't care about because I'm bored of them dangling the carrot as they waste time. This entire arc looks utterly pointless as a story. Nothing is moving forward.

I think for me it all hinges on whether they can make the Chlark rift actually compelling to watch. It seems like they're retooling this year so Clark's lightbulb moment is now set up with the new triangle, so he can go at the end, "Lightbulb! Lana Nois is bad for me and Chloe is awesome! ALSO MAYBE WE SHOULD MAKE OUT!"

But since they need to get their money's worth out of ED for 17 episodes I am assuming we'll be stuck with the stupid Blur/Nois teamup for a good long while, and Clark continuing to make dumbass decisions while Nois is the enabler telling him that everything he does is beautiful, everything he does is right. And after eight years of this show, much of them spent watching Clark's dumbassery, I am sick of watching him be an idiot for the first half of the year until they start setting up his eighteenth-hour epiphany in the spring. ORZ

[identity profile] chiri-chan.livejournal.com 2009-10-04 03:09 pm (UTC)(link)
I think they will go somewhere with it eventually, I figure we'll all be tired of the kick the Chloe by the time we get there.

It is a pointless time filler -- they literally have nothing left.

It seems like they're retooling this year so Clark's lightbulb moment is now set up with the new triangle, so he can go at the end, "Lightbulb! Lana Nois is bad for me and Chloe is awesome! ALSO MAYBE WE SHOULD MAKE OUT!"

EXACTLY. That is exactly what I think they are doing. And we're going to have to wait for it. Which everyone and their dog is tired of waiting for.

LOL! Not only is it taller than every other building in Metropolis and randomly pops up, I love how they have Chlark in "Metallo" (from the screencap I saw) looking out of a stained-glass window. Maybe Clark can see through that, but how is Chloe doing to see anything out of a stained-glass window. Doesn't seem to be the best way to see the city, if that's the whole point :)

Also, Jenry would have NEVER been able to afford that mess. He couldn't even afford the steps in that place. I have a pretty decent salary and I couldn't afford something like that. AND, HE WAS A DRUG ADDICT STEALING MONEY. LOL.

I do like Cassidy Freeman's look when her hair is down.

"should Zod really be like, "OOH EMOTIONAL VULNERABILITIES"? No. Beat the crap out of someone and make them kneel!

OH RIGHT YOU CAN'T BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO POWERS AND ARE LAME. I FORGOT."

Exactly. EXACTLY.

Zod should be throwin' people...but, NO POWERS.

JH should always be shirtless.

I didn't watch the premiere and don't plan on watching SV at all this season (but, I might read the snarky reviews and YT the Chloe scenes for weekly torture), so I have a question...

How did Clark get that perfectly crafted S shield t-shirt? Did Jor-El magically create that or did Clark buy it off www.superherostuff.com?

"A reply from Chloe about being his personal bomb squad would have probably solved everything for me with those two. Too bad."

That would have really been a nice dialogue parallel. Too bad they're too dumb to write something that good. Also, I think they forgot about everything that came before "Savior", so something from S6 would have been non-existent and therefore, it wouldn't have been an option at all.

Thanks for the caps and fun/real commentary. It's always appreciated :)

[identity profile] nyonyo.livejournal.com 2009-09-30 09:38 am (UTC)(link)
I know, right? Who would make a penthouse apartment in that location, that high, and then make it have OPAQUE WINDOWS?!?! But since it's pretty I give them a pass on that one.

JH didn't put a shirt on this episode at all, so Ollie seems to be starting this year out on the right foot. He shouldn't even say words.

Clark's shirt: I have no idea. I am pretty sure he just showed up wearing it. I didn't watch the scenes of Clark alone, because I want to listen to him whine about his epic luuuuv for Nois being the only thing tying him to humanity.

[identity profile] vivamexico.livejournal.com 2009-09-29 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Nice shots! I didn't watch, but still...nice caps.

//Except I was also fine with Jimmy as a temporary short-term basis thing and look how THAT worked out, and I was joyous over Davis and look how THAT worked out, and I really like Doctor Gaeta but at this point I have no hope left.//

That's pretty much how I feel. I like Emil, but I feel like Chloe/Emil would only happen to give Chloe something, and I'd rather see her regain her sense of self-worth, ambition, etc.

I don't want Jimmy back and I don't really miss him, but it pains me greatly that Clark would refuse to help Chloe. I think in part it's because he's already walking out on her. Also, the show has already implied that Clark will one day turn back time for Lois, so...there's that.

[identity profile] nyonyo.livejournal.com 2009-09-30 09:43 am (UTC)(link)
I saw people saying their read of the scene was that Clark refused to do it because he was afraid that she would be the life he had to trade in exchange for Jimmy's. I didn't think it had anything to do with him walking out on her. His attitude wasn't, "I don't care about you anymore," but more along the lines of, "I have too much on my plate right now and I don't want to lose anyone else."

She walked in right after him being told he would be responsible for the apocalypse in a year's time, and him having to bury the messenger in his backyard. He told Chloe that, and she totally blew him off to talk about Jimmy instead. I'm not apt to cut Clark a lot of slack and I think he's an asshole in the grand scheme of things, but dude was having a bad night.

[identity profile] angryscientist.livejournal.com 2009-09-29 07:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Adore your picspams! Thank you, your commentary rocks!

Now some visual commentary - Chloe's hair looks really good, IA. Cassidy's eyes are so striking, she's gorgeous. Not loving Clark's bangs but coupled with some weight gain they make Tom look much younger so it's a fair trade-off.

[identity profile] nyonyo.livejournal.com 2009-09-30 09:44 am (UTC)(link)
Thaaaanks! I figure I might as well bring the eyecandy for the parts I can manage to get through. ORZ

[identity profile] mekastic.livejournal.com 2009-10-03 02:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Love the commentary - you're hilarious and I'm in total agreement with your criticism of the show and in particular of constantly showing how hurt Chloe is by Clark's actions. Lois is quickly taking over Chloe's pre-Watchtower role, at such lightning speed, it's not even funny. Something has to come of this!!

[identity profile] nyonyo.livejournal.com 2009-10-04 08:20 am (UTC)(link)
idk much is being made of her "taking over" but yet she's not exactly competition in the competence department. Clark isn't exactly the brains of the hero operation as it is, so no good can come of this.

Yeah, I was glad to hear Chloe finally admitting her life has been basically ruined because of Clark -- following up on her comment last season that everything she's done was for him. What are your thoughts about how the 2nd episode downplayed the emotional power of that? I haven't seen a detailed review of it yet to consider how it affects this.

Right now my thoughts are pretty much that I'm disgusted with everyone and think they all need to either grow up or get hit by a truck. After the second episode, I honestly don't even understand why Chloe is there or what motivates her anymore. Her life without Clark is totally empty (they never explained what she's even doing with her life now that Lois is back, what is she doing in Offscreensville in Watchtower?), and her life with Clark is miserable as he continues to keep twisting the knife. :/
