My portfolio is back from the printer. No major mishaps happened. The pages weren't cut quite as close to the edge as I'd like, but that's hardly a disaster.
In celebration: PICSPAM. I think this was probably the prettiest episode of SV, ever. Oh, and I want to marry Jimmy Olsen once Chloe's done with him.
(And I totally took about fifty caps of that Chlark bit. You know, the one that lasted like seven seconds? I HAVE NO SHAME.)
They were more cute than usual this episode, I think.

SWEETEST THING EVER?

PRETTY. ...okay, I can't do that on this picspam, or I will not shut up ever.

LOVE the lighting here.

And here. I thought AM looked absolutely stunning; the hair wasn't bad but her makeup just was ON in this episode.

FAAAAACE!!!

Oh my god I loved this so much. What a complete and total dork.

AND THE LOOK ON CHLOE'S FACE.

I kind of did not get this. "Movies, or people?" Was it just supposed to be an anvil for the rest of the episode? Because I did not get why the comment...

...merited a kiss?

RUN, CHLOE, RUN. IT MAKES THE BANGS BLOW OUT OF YOUR FACE!

Quick thinking!

...I just cap these things out of reflex now.

I was nuts about this entire sequence. The director this episode was awesome for many, many reasons, but he didn't let a single scene be a "typical" SV scene in terms of cinematography. That typically static camera was MOVING!

...the dirty, wrong, Chlionel shipper in me sort of rejoices in the fact that Lionel doesn't like Chloe's boyfriend now.

I thought Lois looked incredibly classy and pretty this week.

In fact this is probably my favorite cap of Lois ever.

Okay, I know there's a lot of debate going down on this whole thing. Generally my stance on it is: I never condemn Chloe or Clark for doing the occasional unethical or illegal thing while scoobying, because they are always doing it to help someone. But I was really kinda irritated at how Lois was there (HOW DID SHE GET IN?!) and stealing evidence from the crime scene, because it seemed like it was purely to get ahead the way she was talking about getting quotes and stuff. Now, it doesn't endear Lois to me much (her cousin's best friend, who she was also bonding with at last check, gets SHOT, and she's there to CAPITALIZE ON IT?) but from a journalistic standpoint...I like at least that Lois is getting involved in something important. They've spent all year setting her up as someone with dubious ethics, but yet the stories were all meaningless anyway. I'm wondering if they're heading for a real rivalry of Lois vs Chloe, but where Lois can fight her way ahead because she's willing to do whatever it takes, questionable or not, for the story...and Chloe is ahead because she's more talented and experienced and has connections, BUT when it comes down to being a good friend vs the story, friendship always wins every time. This is kinda the only way I see this storyline really working on a long-term basis.
But they would have to give Lois a real storyline and stick with it, and she would need a storyline that didn't center around who she's sleeping with and her breasts. I'm not holding my breath.

Moving on...IS THAT A LOVE TRIANGLE I SEE THERE?

First instance of PRETTY PERSON LOOKING DOWN this episode. Pay attention, there's LOTS.

I squealed SO LOUDLY at this and I don't even know why.

(PPLD!)

HAHAHAHA

JIMMY'S FAAAAAAAAACE!!!!

I'm really sad we won't get to see this play out for real someday. :( Tom Welling NAILED it.

I LOVED THIS SHOT.

And Aaron Ashmore has the prettiest eyes of anyone on this show. They're even pretty in black-and-white when we're missing out on the pretty blueness!

OH SO NOIR.

OH SO AWESOME.

AHHHH I LOVED THE TYPOGRAPHY ON THAT.

GUH.

I MEAN REALLY. GUH.

JG was probably the best suited for this out of anyone, he's so theatrical on a regular basis that this didn't make him skip a beat! I was trying to figure out why he looked FREAKY in this sequence, though, and realized he shaved the beard for the noir stuff. IT IS SO UNATTRACTIVE. Luckily I know how totally fine he's gonna be lookin' in subsequent episodes, so it's all good!

PPLD! Lois looked really pretty here. I loved her hair!

MR was so hot in this episode I could not believe it.

Though he's sadly way behind TW in this one. GAAAAAAH!

BUT HE DID KEEP TRYING TO COMPETE REALLY.

I...I...is this supposed to be the garage? *cracks up* DID THEY THINK WE WOULDN'T NOTICE?!!!!!

But I don't care because, hi. That is Lex's patented SEX LOOK. I don't remember the last time we saw that. Maybe "Bound."

I think they have chemistry and I could dig it if we had to sit through this in the real world, but considering the most awesome thing Lex has pretty much EVER DONE was call Lois a muffin-peddling college dropout, I don't think I would respect him for it.

Oh so sneaky, Jimmy.

The purposefully crappy special effects in this sequence KILLED ME.

And I love the reflection on the car hood! (Though my favorite was when Lex put his hands in front of his face as he crashed, bwah! So cheesy! And then the hilariously unrealistic car wreckage!!)

I really, REALLY liked this.

BWAH. "GARDENIA!" said totally like "ROSEBUD!" BRILLIANCE!

I LOVE THIS SHOT. THE LIGHTS. AHHHH.

HEY GUYS. CHECK OUT WHO'S BREATHING THE SAME AIR?!!

No. Not them.

THEM.

OH YEAH. (I am so, so going to hell. But this consoled me SO MUCH since I hadn't caught it on the first watch, and it quelled my bitterness over Lana and Lois both getting Lionel storylines while Chloe isn't getting any love at allll.)

HOLY SHIT.

I. I. DAMN.

YEAH. I DON'T EVEN MIND IT. THOSE TWO CAN MAKE OUT WHENEVER AS LONG AS TOM WELLING'S ARMS ARE IN CLEAR VIEW.

I REPEAT, DAMN.

I loved her hat!

WHY CAN'T WE LIVE IN THIS NOIR AU FOREVER?

I WANT THIS CLARK TO STAY. HE SHOWS OFF HIS ARMS AND SHOOTS LANA DEAD!

Best. Anvil. Ever.

I loved that he'd learned to pick locks for her, hee!

Oh, and for all the talk of OMG JIMMY NOT RESPECTING CHLOE'S COOLNESS, his grin during this scene pretty much read as, "My girlfriend's gonna kick your ass, and it is going to be SO COOL TO WATCH."

Two things. One: AM is always incredbily good at making fight sequences realistic, and AA was excellent here too. It was seriously intense! Two: OMG CHECK OUT JIMMY'S HIGH TOPS I THINK I LOVE HIM EVEN MORE NOW?!!!!!

FAVORITE THING EVER. And the coolest special effect sequence I can remember seeing on this show in a while!

...I'm not gonna lie.

...I took about 450 caps of this episode...

...and...

...like 60 of them...

...were just...

...of this...

...ten-second...

...sequence. GOD THEY MAKE ME SO HAPPY IT'S RIDICULOUS. OTP.

This was SO pretty.

I aww'ed at this.

AND THEN SHRIEKED MY HEAD OFF AT THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS!!!!!

OTP OTP OTP OTP OTP OTP OTP OTP. HAVE I MENTIONED THAT I LOVE THEM LATELY?? BECAUSE I DO.

Oh, and I just thought AM looked SO PRETTY here.

Best. Thing. Ever? That Lionel has his minion turn on the light for him! Bwah!!

Really, ED looked so much nicer this episode. I like.

(PPLD!!!)

This was fun, and it was nice seeing Lionel back into the groove of threatening someone properly again. But I think I still prefer Lana threatening him last week, because nothing will ever beat his reaction to her threatening his sex life.

And then he disses her on his way out. Oh, Lionel. HOW I LOVE THEE. Though Lex still has you soundly beat, because no Lois diss will ever beat the muffin-peddling college dropout insult. It was a thing of beauty.

CHLOE LOOKED SO PRETTY HERE!!!

AND THE HAIR? IT WAS PRETTY ROCKIN' FOR THE BANGS!

AHHHH. MORE PRETTY PERSON LOOKING DOWN!

Really, Clark is just so PATHETIC here. I swear, Clark. DOES LANA REALLY MEAN THAT MUCH TO YOU? I WOULD NEVER HAVE GUESSED THAT IN A MILLION YEARS. YOU JUST KEEP YOUR FEELINGS FOR HER UNDER WRAPS SO COMPLETELY, IT'S ALL SO SUBTLE. I'M SURE CHLOE'S NEVER EVEN HEARD YOU MENTION IT AND HAS NO IDEA ABOUT LANA'S IMPORTANCE! God, shut the fuck up, Clark.

I do like that Chloe can lie to everyone, and she can do it pretty flawlessly even if she doesn't like to...but Clark, she can't lie to.

I SORT OF LOVE THIS SHOT. PRETTY COLORS!

I wish they would use this setting more often in daylight, the colors here are always so enjoyable to watch.

Chloe has a new car, but that's still totally not the one she was driving at the beginning of "Progeny." I like that it's small and cute like her old one, BUT I MISS THE OLD ONE A LOT.

Wow.

DID THE SCRIPT SUPERVISOR FUCK UP ON THIS DAY. And apparently Lana's bullet wound switched sides too. SIGH.

BUT HERE'S JIMMY LOOKING DOWN TO MAKE UP FOR IT

Ahaha Chloe is so cute.

YOU GUYS. I THINK JIMMY OLSEN MIGHT WANT US TO BUY VIDEO IPODS! SHOULD WE HEED HIS SIREN CALL? (I kid, they didn't even say "iPod" out loud. I'm sure that took restraint.)

THIS WAS SO CUTE.

Yeah, I think that might be the prettiest SV kiss in the history of the show.

And props to AM and AA, because usually their kissing looked way awkward in past episodes, but this is just cute and PRETTY.

(I think, anyway. I mean, not FAVORITE kiss on the show by any meansCHLARK IN VESSEL DUH but prettiest? Yeah. Though I am a big fan of the Lana/Whitney final kiss in "Tempest," with the wind whipping around them and all. And the Lexana kiss in "Vessel" was also pretty.)
I do still have a fair amount to do, schoolwork-wise. I need to spend all weekend finishing my type project, for one. But I am so relieved that my portfolio's printed. YAY. I'M ALMOST DONE.
