My portfolio is back from the printer. No major mishaps happened. The pages weren't cut quite as close to the edge as I'd like, but that's hardly a disaster.
In celebration: PICSPAM. I think this was probably the prettiest episode of SV, ever. Oh, and I want to marry Jimmy Olsen once Chloe's done with him.
(And I totally took about fifty caps of that Chlark bit. You know, the one that lasted like seven seconds? I HAVE NO SHAME.)
They were more cute than usual this episode, I think.

I was nuts about this entire sequence. The director this episode was awesome for many, many reasons, but he didn't let a single scene be a "typical" SV scene in terms of cinematography. That typically static camera was MOVING!
...the dirty, wrong, Chlionel shipper in me sort of rejoices in the fact that Lionel doesn't like Chloe's boyfriend now.
I thought Lois looked incredibly classy and pretty this week.
In fact this is probably my favorite cap of Lois ever.
Okay, I know there's a lot of debate going down on this whole thing. Generally my stance on it is: I never condemn Chloe or Clark for doing the occasional unethical or illegal thing while scoobying, because they are always doing it to help someone. But I was really kinda irritated at how Lois was there (HOW DID SHE GET IN?!) and stealing evidence from the crime scene, because it seemed like it was purely to get ahead the way she was talking about getting quotes and stuff. Now, it doesn't endear Lois to me much (her cousin's best friend, who she was also bonding with at last check, gets SHOT, and she's there to CAPITALIZE ON IT?) but from a journalistic standpoint...I like at least that Lois is getting involved in something important. They've spent all year setting her up as someone with dubious ethics, but yet the stories were all meaningless anyway. I'm wondering if they're heading for a real rivalry of Lois vs Chloe, but where Lois can fight her way ahead because she's willing to do whatever it takes, questionable or not, for the story...and Chloe is ahead because she's more talented and experienced and has connections, BUT when it comes down to being a good friend vs the story, friendship always wins every time. This is kinda the only way I see this storyline really working on a long-term basis.
But they would have to give Lois a real storyline and stick with it, and she would need a storyline that didn't center around who she's sleeping with and her breasts. I'm not holding my breath.
Moving on...IS THAT A LOVE TRIANGLE I SEE THERE?

Luckily I know how totally fine he's gonna be lookin' in subsequent episodes, so it's all good!

This was fun, and it was nice seeing Lionel back into the groove of threatening someone properly again. But I think I still prefer Lana threatening him last week, because nothing will ever beat his reaction to her threatening his sex life.

I'm trying to remember the last time we had totally shameless shirtless Clark fanservice: we had "Crimson" as the ONE TIME he took his shirt off all year, but it was only for a few seconds and you could barely see him! Honestly though. That's three episodes in a row where they were good. I loved the Noir universe. Everything was so pretty and TW's ARMS! I am still dying as I look at the caps. When I was watching intitally I was like "Ewww Clan---O_O...nevermind" Hee! The shallow always wins.
Also, you totally put into words what I couldn't about Lois before. I was so annoyed by her swiping evidence from a crime scene (which, because of her, landed itself right back into the Magnificent Bastard's bastardly hands) but I kept thinking "would I have been upset if Chloe/Clark did it?" But I finally understand what the difference is. When Chloe and Clark do grey things like that, it's because they're trying to save someone or like...aliens are invading the planet or some shit. When Lois steals some crime scene stuff (off of the near-murder investigation of someone she's kinda friends with to boot. Lois should get humanitarian of the year) it's all about herself. She wasn't trying to help get anything solved and she didn't care. She just wanted the exculsive story to make herself look better.
I could totally see the Lois/Chloe dynamic going down like that, with Lois besting Chloe just because she has zero morals and is only out for number one...but that makes me so sad that that's gonna be Lois Lane. Oh show. Why do you hurt me like this?
Also? I loved all the nearly-Chlionelish scenes. Lionel doesn't approve of Jimmy! Hee! And Lionel in the background when Chloe comes up at the bar. THE SAME AIIIIRRR!!
The Chlark catch was like....the best moment all season. I have so much love for this episode. And I loved the Chimmy kiss at the end. So pretty!!

I'm still trying to figure out how the fuck Lois got into the BUILDING. Chloe said it was completely sealed off, and yet the DP was letting press from the Inquisitor to get quotes for a crime on their turf? RIIIIGHT.
I don't even want to try to like Lois anymore. Her stealing out of Chloe's trash bin in "Combat" was the last straw. And that's really sad because over the span of six long years, I never stopped trying to like Lana.
I swear my heart skipped like three beats during the Chlark catch. SO CUTE. And I loved the Chimmy kiss too!! SO PRETTY. People should kiss behind the Talon more often, because, COLORS!

I know, how the hell did she get in? Seriously? And the more I think about her stealing the evidence from a crime scene, thus kinda ensuring that Lana was screwed forevaaaaa, the sadder I am that they want us to believe that this is THE Lois Lane.
I think I'm way past giving on on trying to like Lois. I really, really tried valiantly in S4. But by the end of the season everytime her scenes came on I had a little bit of a twitch. And she's just gotten progressively worse.
What really sad is that I hate Lois WAY more than I ever hated Lana. In fact, this season and last season I even liked Lana at certain parts (the parts where she was evvviiiill!) but I haven't liked Lois since....Devoted.
I just think they should just line up all the characters and have a massive orgy out back of the Talon. Think of the pretty!

I'm still trying to figure out who shot Lana: neither Lex nor Lionel knew what was going on. Did she just shoot herself with Lex's gun to make it look like it was his doing? Because yeah, if Lois hadn't stolen the evidence and it had been found, I bet the police would have gotten ALL up in Lex's business and found out the gun was his. That's actually a really smart plan (sort of, I guess, if I had been Lana I would have figured out a variation on it where I wasn't ACTUALLY SHOT, more like conveniently knocked unconscious with one of Lex's cufflinks left at the scene beside my broken body), and it leads nicely into the finale.
Yeah, if only Lois had just LEFT at "Devoted." I think that was the last time I enjoyed her too. No, wait, I loved her last scene with Chloe in "Pariah," they did such a great job with that scene, and the two of them really felt like family. But I don't think we've seen that kind, understanding part of Lois since. And now when people yammer about secrets to her, she doesn't listen, she just calls them retards. *buries head in hands* I mean, she has had the occasional talk with Clark since, but I just don't buy into scenes when she tells him that...what was it? That Lana is a broken-down used car that gives crappy mileage, but someday, if he's really lucky and plays his cards right, he might get to drive a FORD FUSION! COOL BUTTONS AND BREATH MINT HOLDER AND ALL! BUT ONLY AFTER EVERY SINGLE MEMBER OF THE ENTIRE JUSTICE LEAGUE GETS TO DRIVE IT FIRST.

Honestly, if Lois hadn't stolen crime scene evidence, I'm sure the police would be up in Lex's grill like *yesterday* when they saw what was on that zip drive. Because you know it couldn't have been well hidden or encoded or anything if LOIS could get at it. I mean, Lois' idea of research is dumpster diving in Chloe's trash can.
Devoted was the last time that I enjoyed Lois all the way through an episode. Occasionally, I'll like a scene here or there (like the Pariah scene) but mostly it's just pure hate. And most of it probably stems from that fact that I have always loved Lois Lane since I was a little girl, and always wanted to be *like* LL (espically TH's LL) and Nois is just ruining her.
I don't even try to figure out why Lana would have the gun or who shot her. Because SV will never try to figure it out, so I figure I shouldn't bother losing braincells. :P
Oh man. The Bike > Harley conversation is one of the stupidest on SV that I've ever heard.
BUT ONLY AFTER EVERY SINGLE MEMBER OF THE ENTIRE JUSTICE LEAGUE GETS TO DRIVE IT FIRST.

God, I know. I still miss Teri Hatcher Lois. I might try downloading S1 of LnC before I leave school, because I haven't seen it since I was little. And I want to relive the awesome memories of episodes like...when Lois found out Clark was Superman, but then they went back in time so she had to forget it again, so she wrote like...a post-it note to herself in the past. I think I was in sixth grade and I remember being like, "NOOOOOO!" when Clark found the note first and destroyed it. (That was some quality soap opera there. Not quite on the FAKE BABY level, though.)
I swear, we all know AlMiles will never be able to wrest away the rights to Wonder Woman from DC because of the movie, but if they ever did, I have no doubt that the episode would involve Lois and Diana having a lesbian stripper fling. And possibly a Zoolander-style walk-off where they compete to see who looks better in star-spangled bikini bottoms. BECAUSE IF SOMEONE IS IN THE JUSTICE LEAGUE, THEN LOIS HAS TO MAKE OUT WITH THEM. IT IS A RULE.
