OMG. The iTunes store is my new best friend: I didn't know until now that you could get SV there. It is so worth paying two bucks to have caps without that fucking CW logo! The caps are a little grainy when sharpened, but still!

And there were so many cool little flashes in the episode that I didn't notice until I capped it, which made me love it more. Especially the "Vessel" scene. The kids running directly through the Planet basement doors! The Superman logo flashing across the top of the "Vessel" kiss (SO. FREAKING. EPIC).

You can see a stream of (non-Doomsday) Kryptonian symbols running across the screen when Clark gets erased, with the Superman logo featuring prominently (I am going to take a stab and guess it's the message from "Rosetta"? anyone know?) which fade away as the camera closes in on Chloe enveloped in the Doomsday symbol.

And when Chloe takes Davis' hand, the Doomsday symbol flashes on top of the Superman symbol, like it's blotting Clark out.

Also loved how they remembered only to show the kisses Chloe remembers, I'd kind of forgotten she only remembers the first, "Magnetic," and "Vessel." Chloe is getting screwed, memory-loss-wise, that's half she's forgotten...

"What's going on...? This isn't what happened."

"Okay, I know this looks a little weird."
"What's going on, Chloe?"
"Jimmy's right. I have been drawing a few blanks."
"A few?!"
"Well, yeah, but I've just been kinda using this as... 'Chloe Sullivan's Crib Sheet.' And whenever I forget someone, like...my fiancee... I come here to remind myself of how we're connected."
"Listen to what you're saying. You've had to paste your entire life on these walls. There's something seriously wrong with you."

(I lol'ed so hard here. Five years of nobody giving Chloe a second glance, and now that Lana's off the show, every guy in the room adores her more than anyone else. ABOUT DAMN TIME.)

"You've been the best friend and ally I could have had, Chloe. The truth is, you've saved me more than I ever could have saved you. I'm sorry to go back to hiding the truth from you. But the best way that I know how to protect you...is to let you go."

"I gotta get to Metropolis to drop off our check to the florist before they close."
"I'll make a run to the city for you."
"Are you kidding me? That's a good two hour trip, and you drive like an old lady."

"I heard you're not gonna be able to make it to my wedding. I'm really gonna miss you being there."
"Chloe, I lied. They don't need me at the hospital that day."

In conclusion: mindrape is bad, Clark is a dumbass, Chloe is absolutely awesome and is going to kick Clark's ass when she finds out, I love these two more than Clark loves pie, and did I mention how EPIC this episode was? EPIIIIIC.

Also, I HEART JAMES MARSTERS' VOICE. EPIIIIIIC.

"Bride" promo: The wedding color scheme in the promos makes it pretty clear as to the Brainiac question. Like Chloe would stand for orange and yellow as her wedding colors if James Marsters weren't the one still driving. SO FUG. Her wedding dress is gorgeous, though!

I loved Chloe/Clark since the very beggining, even though I knew they'd never be together. I haven't even watched this episode yet and I'm already giddy over here!!

Amazing... seriously. Amazing.

And I agree with you, Chloe is so much better than Lana and it saddens me that they took so long to realize it!

The way they deliberately revisited all of the romantic flashbacks in the episode makes me think the day they'll actually get together won't be too far off.

I actually started liking Lana in S6 and S7 once she really owned her bitchiness. But Chloe is endlessly more awesome than Lana, she has always been my favorite.

Thank you for these caps! You picked up so much more than I could catch on my tv. The editing was really cool.

I wonder what the symbol over Chlark in the first Vessel Kiss image is? The one that starts the transition from the Amish barn scene to Dark Thursday. It doesn't look like Doom. It looks different to me.

It really was!

I thought that too, but I think it's too close to be anything different. It looks almost like the one being used in the flashes is like a font-based text version of the symbol, while the one flashing over Chlark is a handwritten version or something. Nothing else really makes sense since Doom flashes like that on everything that gets erased. It may show up somewhere else in the flashes as that version too, I wasn't really looking.

Thanks for posting these screencaps. I'm still reeling from the mindrape. Chloe has been through so much since she learned Clark's secret but she realized that she was able to accomplish great things, even heroic deeds.

She fought so hard to keep her most cherished memories and all of them involved kissing or being in close proximity with Clark. So much for the idea that Chloe is over Clark romantically. All her fondest memories of her "platonic BFF" involve romance.

Jimmy was a jerk in the loft scene. Chloe was scared out of mind and he thinks that is the appropriate time to criticize her for forgetting him but remembering Clark. He is so unworthy of Chloe.

I laughed at the scene of Chloe being surrounded by her suitors too.

The mindrape did feel like a kick in the gut but I now believe that Chloe's memories will be restored.

This episode is EPIC and the Kryptonian symbols strategically associated with Chloe, Clark, and Davis prove that, IMO.

I HATE HATE HATE Chimmy. Just looking at those screencaps of the teaser puts me in a foul mood. I HATE how Chloe is in that relationship. No fight. No passion. Just a passive chick playing the "girlfriend" role. Thinking about it, I lose respect for Chloe faking being happy with Jimmy. She use to deal with problems, here she's lying to keep up the status quo. Bleh.

And that too big smile on the sofa? Who is this person? I hope to goodness that Brainiac is still in there partly driving the car, because Chloe looks like an idiot. She doesn't notice things still seem off? That her memories are whack? She doesn't consider what it means that she forgot her fiance but remembered Clark and Dooms even though the significance of it is pointed out to her twice! It doesn't give her pause before she makes the biggest commitment of her life? She looks stupid.

Me, three. That was so surreal. This is the girl that no one asked to dance at her own prom when she was PROM QUEEN and now, 3 guys are nuts for her. SV has plenty of twists that's for sure.

You know what I realized with the caps is that we don't have a cap of Dooms/Chloe/Clark.

Dooms saw Chlark, but he was at a distance. The three of them haven't interacted at the same time yet. Clark hasn't seen how Davis is with Chloe. Davis talked about Chloe to Clark when they met and here they do again, but Chloe is off to the side with Jimmy.

No one has caught Dooms hitting on Chloe yet.

Nice pick up on the cake, I'd missed that. I had seen the Tempest kiss flash backs with the superman crest which was amazing, but I'd missed that. Thanks for the picspam it caps up all of the awesome. Plus how great was it to see reporter Chloe again with him? Siiiiiiiiigh.

Clark is dumb but, I do have to say it's clear now that he loves her as much as she loves him. I love how they know each other backwards and forwards (down to the Ageless-era photo in the yearbook). It's so Superman II there, that it's hard for me to hate him completely.

Brainiac is still driving the show, I think he got exactly what he wanted, it just took a little time. Now he's got a body to control AND a FoS. Sneaky bastard.

Also, I'm totally thinking AM's hair is long again, that's why all the earpinning and curling, which I think has to be a good thing that it's going to be long going into the next group of eps. Cause it's beautiful.

How awesome were the minor flash backs? I think the only thing not included there was Devoted, but it was a great re-establishment of their history. And that WoW room - I'm thinking she's had a crib sheet a lot longer than Identity (when the comps first fail) - and all those screens! Lex, Lionel, Jonathan, Martha, Jimmy, Ollie? Just. Wow!

That is an excellent point. I was excited when Chloe, Davis, and Clark were in the same scene. Clark does not trust Davis with Chloe and is tone and demeanor made that pretty clear!

First off, your coloring on the caps is oh so amazing, I am in awe! I can never make my screencaps look as beautiful but yours are just stunning!

These pictures are so beautiful! thanks so much for sharing them! Chloe and Clark are epic, meant to be together, and I think this episode showed that. The Vessel kiss interspersed with the Supes symbol? EPIC, indeed! Chlark at the fortress just broke my heart. I'm still gaga over the forehead kiss. So touching and sweet!

I loved the episode, even though she loses her memories in the end, only because I'm sure it was a mistake. I believe when she's fully cured will be the beginning of non-platonic Chlark, and it will so be worth the wait.

WOW. Thank you, Thank you for putting up these screen caps. It was really difficult to tell what some of the subliminal messages were. Did they really show the Vessel Kiss THAT many times? EPIC. And the Daily Planet featured in EVERY SHOT, even with the little kids? EPICALLY EPIC. And the Superman Symbol interlaced with the Doomsday one. SO EPIC.

Such an amazing episode. Though heartbreaking, it showed us how important Chlark is, not only to Chloe (Ummm, When your happy place is all the romantic moments with your best friend and not anything with your Fiance??) and to Clark (that beautiful speech about her saving him more), but to the WHOLE FREAKIN SHOW.

I concur, Clark is a dumbass. We knew this, I think. I don't like what he did here, but I will admit I do understand why he did it. And I also agree that Chloe's gonna beat him senseless when she finds out what he did. lol

Thank you so much for putting this up! There's so much goodness that was easily missed here. I love how much they associated her with Superman and Doomsday in this episode. If they were trying to separate her from Clark, linking her to the symbols like this did completely the opposite.

chiri_chan's pimpage, and I'm so glad I did. After seeing these, I realize how much of "Abyss" I totally missed the first time around. The episode was emotionally wrenching, but your screencaps clued me in so much better to what was going on behind all the pain. I especially loved seeing the Supes and Dooms logos superimposed on each other just before Chloe takes Dooms/Davis' hand.

It was pretty clear they were going for the idea that Davis replaces Clark in Chloe's affections, but that one visual brought that home to me more vividly than the rest of the whole episode.

And yes, Clark is a JERK, and Chloe is SO going to make him pay for that whole patronizing "I've got to mindrape her to save her!" crap.

I think I stared at this for twenty minutes. I adore Clark and Chloe. I especially like the Chlark hug at the end, and the smiles.
