NitW practically seemed to scream "Veronica is going to find out that Normal isn't all it's cracked up to be". I found it anvillous, even, but then all we got was the creator seeming absolutely befuddled and "we're not writing Veronica any differently than last year, she's just the same" and that's when my faith died. I still know what I want to see and what I think will be a good story, I just don't think that the writers are on the same page with me.
I think most people who are tearing their hair out about Veronica right now are those who haven't ever gotten over season 2 and are thinking this is a repeat (I'm on the fence about that, actually). And I also think they saw the promo and jumped to waaay too many conclusions. The interesting thing is that the more posts I read where people hate Veronica and are sick of her, the more I'm finding myself defending her. I think there may be a post at some point if I can just collect my thoughts.
