I've been reading the reports from other fans, and it really does appear that the root of the problems this time was that of the audience misbehaving. I mentioned it at the beginning of my report, but hoped it was only my area (even though that was bad enough, since we were right next to the stage and Arashi could definitely see people not participating and looking bored out of their minds). But apparently people said this weekend had the worst manners they'd ever witnessed at an Arashi con.
If the members are no doubt stretched thin to begin with, and the fans refuse to participate, I think it's unsurprising that it didn't go well. I still think there were issues with the concert setup, but when I thought it over, I realized that if Arashi had been interacting happily with the audience, I probably wouldn't have noticed or cared. But because the atmosphere was poor, it made the problems stand out even more. :/ So, I think it really depends on what the audience is like. I would imagine Sapporo will be one of the best, though, just because by then the fans will generally know what to expect and the responses should pick up more. I hope so, anyway!
