wake up: 4:35 AM
first train: 5:16 AM
arrival: 6:18 AM
left at: 1:25 PM
this is not faiiiir, last year i got there at nine thirty and yet made better time
my body feels like one gigantic heatstroken sunburnt bruise
i know and understand the entire boyband cult marketing strategy and am aware i am just playing their evil psychological game by doing this, i wish i were ignorant since knowing just makes it more embarrassing
why can't we buy this crap on the internet as god intended
last year i swore i'd never do this EVER AGAIN EVER EVER EVER, venue-limiteds be damned, NEVER AGAIN, it was the worst experience i ever had as a fan. last year it took five hours and forty-five minutes
this year it took SIX hours and forty-five minutes and i got there at six-thirty in the morning this year, the ONLY reason i might rate it as a slight improvement was that this year at least i wasn't all alone and it was cloudy in the early morning (but i still got sunburned later on)
i don't see how anyone could do goods in the morning and go to the con in the evening at that venue, i was sooo wobbly on my feet getting out of there and felt sooo sick.
The goods are cute but like the Diet Coke of last year, like they just recycled everything. Last year was adorable so there are worse things, but I'm not that impressed - they followed through on the *~SEXY!~* photoshoot vs casual and cute photoshoot concept from the album shoot, but the album did it way better (and my idea about using the sunglasses shots for the mini-uchiwa would have been way cuter than what they ended up with ;w;).
Jun looks really amazing on everything, but Nino is in that "get a fucking haircut" stage again.
I shouldn't have bought the penlight given it's almost the exact same as last year, but I did against all better judgement just because I ALWAYS buy the stupid penlight. :(
Feel SUPER spoiled on mini-uchiwa second year in a row. Is it okay for Jun fans to be that spoiled two years running?!
When we got near the first row and could see the street, someone near the street walking out of the goods area held up their uchiwa set for everyone still in line to see, and everyone was freaking out and squealing over that, but I looked over towards the street and could see a nondescript van turning the corner across the way with curtains drawn all around the windows.
Practice started inside Kokuritsu a little while after that, so my exciting story of the morning is I totally saw Arashi's van. *~thrilling~*
The beginning songs they rehearsed were impossible to make out from across the street. We were trapped waiting a really long time on the steps once we crossed over, though, and you could hear really well there. We could make out Yurase, Ima wo, the intro for Troublemaker, 1992*4##111, and (surprisingly) ROCK YOU.
My friend and I were like, "It's THAT song! What's it called?" and started singing along to Yurase, Ima wo until we hit the chorus and were like, "OH RIGHT." I was like, "How do we know the lyrics but not the title?!" Same thing happened for ROCK YOU, except the lyrics were no help with that one, and we were sooo frustrated trying to remember what the song was called.
Me: "I know it's what's-its-name from Time!!" My friend: "It's the one that's not Love Situation!"
Surprised that's on the setlist, though, so random. If I remember correctly, I think Kotoba no Chikara's finale encore was the only time they ever sang it live... I'm always happy about Time songs making reappearances since it's my favorite album, and to keep its songs in the mix so much I think they like it about as much as I do.
SONGS WISHLIST:
+ SUPER FRESH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
+ Tokei Jikake no Umbrella (I think this would be super cool-looking live)
+ Attack it! to be made a standard song forever and ever
+ basically, SUPER FRESH
I kinda want to keep unspoiled for the setlist but I don't think I can hold out two weeks...
ugh and now I'm going to bed and not coming out for YEARS, I am so so so glad I am not going tomorrow so I can recover from this ;w;
