I think I'm just getting used to the frentic pace, now. So after my post two nights ago, when I was writing my post about SV and the design drama, nihongofrancais called with nayamigoto, which I listened to and tried to cheer her up. We were going to have "MatsuJun Day" today anyway, but now it was like a quest to cheer everyone up after our shit weeks. *snicker*

So I got to class yesterday morning, and sat with Erica, who said she couldn't come to MatsuJun Day because she had to write her R.A. application essay. During the class break, I told her what went down at the design department, and...she got all upset! Because a bunch of her friends are leaving to study abroad next year, and one is in the design department, and she started crying, "If she transfers to get away from the design department, I'll be left here all alone!!" As the lecture started up again, she burst into tears and ran for the bathroom. I wasn't sure if she wanted a second alone or not, so I waited for a minute or two, but she didn't come back, so then I ran out of the room to check on her.

But there's no girl's bathroom on the floor we were on, so I checked upstairs first, then downstairs, and just as I was running back up again, I found nihongofrancais with Erica, who was still crying. I took her back to class, and we apologized to Roddy-sensei afterwards for running out.

At that point I was like, "I'm kind of at my limit," since I felt like the only thing I've done with my entire week is cry, or listen to other people crying. Erica and I went to lunch while I waited for nihongofrancais to get out of her class. There we met up with Nikie, who was having her own nayamigoto. We traded stories, and so I invited her to come with nihongofrancais and me to ogle MatsuJun watch serious examples of Japanese pop culture that are totally useful to our education.

So we watched Tokyo Tower while waiting for Hanadan to download. It was super-pretty, but not enough there to totally interest me. Reminded me a bit of "Closer" but minus all of the dirty talk. I was laaaaaughing at the main couple and what a total GIRL the main guy was. "OMG! I'm going to wear the shirt you bought me, and smoke the cigarettes you do, and never leave my apartment on the off chance that I'll miss your phone calls, and I LOVE YOU WHY DON'T YOU LOVE ME MORE IS IT THE CLINGINESS IS THAT SOMEHOW UNATTRACTIVE?" And yet MatsuJun's story ended with the characters learning something and parting the better for it, while the other idiotic couple got the Hollywood ending. Laaaame! I kinda wish the whole movie had just been the MatsuJun story.

Then we went to get Chinese takeout, and Ayako came over. We watched the Making of Boku wa Imouto ni Koi wo Suru.

ME: nihongofrancais, can you copy this to my harddrive?
AYAKO: You want this?
ME: Yesssss!
ONSCREEN: *MatsuJun runs. And runs. And runs some more.*
ME: If I were the director, I would just be keep going, "ONE MORE TAKE, PLZ."

And then I acted out the highly complex manga plot to Ayako and Nikie:

"YOU'RE TOO CUTE!! I CAN'T STOP MYSELF!!"
"Noooooo!"
"IT'S YOUR FAULT FOR BEING SO CUTE!! I CAN'T HOLD BACK, EVEN IF YOU'RE MY SISTER!!"

(brief interlude to allow for makeout sessions and sexin' each other up in bunk beds, love hotels, and churches)
"Now that I've had my way with my twin sister, I have to run away to boarding school!"
"Why?!"
"Because...I DON'T THINK SHE'S REALIZED WE'RE IN AN INCESTUOUS RELATIONSHIP! I THINK I BETTER SPLIT BEFORE SHE REALIZES WE'VE DONE SOMETHING WRONG, EVEN IF IT FELT SO RIIIIIIIGHT!"

After that, we watched the Hard Gay "Hana Yori Danshi" thing. Which is still THE MOST AWESOME THING IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD. And after that Ayako had to leave, but by then Hanadan had finished downloading~!








Um, yeah. Solid episode, but they put like all of the good stuff in the promos. The only really awesome moments that weren't spoiled by the promos were the scene where Tsukasa did his CAN I MAYBE BORROW A CUP OF SUGAR??? routine, and Tsubaki smuggling Tsukushi into the mansion. nihongofrancais and I were both already screaming by the credits promos over Tsukushi's acceptance letter, and realizing for sure that the scene on the bridge was the one where Tsukasa threw the dousei necklace into the river.

Not enough Tsubaki. Matsushima made up for it by her hair being EVEN HOTTER THAN USUAL in her brief appearance. God. I love her hair. Oh, and Matsushima continues to outshine every single other person in the cast in her brief appearances.

No real deep thoughts going on here that I could think of. Just that I thought the episode would be a bit more exciting than it actually was, based off the promos? So, picspam.

And Photobucket was being a fucking BITCH all last night. *grumble*

Yeah, sure, because it didn't take me three times rewinding that while reading the subs to figure out what the fuck Tsukasa said. BUT IT WAS ALL OVER THE PAPERS LATER!

I'm feeling like the coats have been marginalized into short appearances as fanservice. Okay, fanservice coats are better than none at all!


I was cringing through this whole thing. She knows it's over, too! But she was still talking about the wedding dress and where to have the ceremony and OW.






And now he's like, "UM I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THAT." "If you say one word like that, I'll die!" is probably a super-effective threat against Tsukasa nowadays anyway after New York.

Seeing as I was up until 3 last night reading Boku wa...I think that is probably the best summary of the manga EVA. Seriously. I spent the whole time giggling at how BAD it was. I still have at least three more chapters of the manga to go but I decided that sleeping was more important than whether or not their love was MEANT2BE.

(Also, I love how half the dialouge in the manga is "Iku!" "Yori!" "Iku!" "Yori" "No" "Yes" "NO" "YES" "IKUYORIKU!"

Seriously. I think that sums the whole thing up pretty neatly.

Also, I have many thoughts and feelings about Hanadan. But since I have a lot of work to do before I can rewatch the episode with my roomates I shall focus on the two most important issues. I'm sure you'll agree:
1.)Matsushima's HAIR MUST MARRY ME!
2.) FAAAAAACE!

My friend and I both had the same reaction: "OMG THIS IS SO BAD OMG THIS IS THE WORST MANGA EVER OMG OMG OMG .... WHY AM I UNZIPPING ANOTHER CHAPTER?!!!"

Actually, I think half of the dialogue consists entirely of, "You're so cute, Iku!" GOD. WE GET IT ALREADY. SHE'S CUTE.

I love how you always want to discuss the SERIOUS ISSUES. And not if Matsushima's hair MARRIES ME FIRST.
