ORZ I am so tiiiiired. We've been running around all over the place.
PHOTO POST TIME. There's something for everyone here, and by "everyone," I mean, "the people who share my sick obsession with a certain drama that starts with Hana and ends with...Dan." Though there's some Maou stuff in here too.
Stop #1 yesterday: we went to Harajuku, and did Takeshita for a bit, until we headed for Omotesando Hills. On floor B1 of Omotesando Hills, there's a place called Toraya Cafe...

Recognize it~?
Around that corner with the mirror is the table that Shigeru and Tsukasa met at in two different episodes, where she told him it was okay if he wasn't over Tsukushi yet because she'd wait, and then later when he attempted to dump her and it didn't take.
The table they sat at is in the smoking section, though I might have put up with that, but it was taken anyway.
I was worried this place was gonna be out of our price range (I looked up another place on Omotesando, where Shigeru and Akira went to lunch and he told her not to give up on Tsukasa. It was a chocolatier that was like 1800 for a piece of chocolate!! さすがF4!!!), but it was surprisingly doable considering the Omotesando Hills location! The cafe specializes in desserts with a wagashi twist: pretty much everything has either maccha or anko in it. I had cake that was made of anko mixed with chocolate, which was incredibly good. That and an iced coffee cost about 1400 or so, and both were yummy enough that I couldn't complain about the price. :)
After that, we took the subway to go to Akasaka, to go to TBS. I'd never been before.
Guys?
IT IS LIKE DISNEYLAND FOR TV GEEKS
Okay, maybe not quite, but REALLY CLOSE?!
We got out of the subway, and...
Y HALO THAR RED ROOM

We headed out of there, and crossed the street to go check out the TBS building...

ILU TOMAAAAA

MAOU + HANADAN = OTP?!

We had frozen yogurt here.

This was right next to the TBS building, but I couldn't get both in my keitai frame.

This was in the Ousama no Buranchi booth, signed by all the cast!

Inside TBS!

And they had the most cheapo, lame purikura machine EVER inside. We fed it out 400 yen in the blind hope that we could take Hanadan-related purikura, but it turns out you only luck out if you want purikura with a TBS announcer's picture...or the Buranchi mascots. And the machine only gives you 30 seconds or so to decorate. Not recommended. After that we went back to Harajuku and home...

Though I had to take this photo on the way home. WAAAAAANT. :( ...I don't think the AU shop next to the Johnny's shop is allowed to be Team Just Say No, y/y?
Today: Ebisu Garden Place!

This at Ebisu station!
Then we went to see Hanadan Final. First time for
mojotastic, fifth for me.
STILL TO COME: ...idk? Probably Ueno Zoo if it stops being so hot it's insane? I want to find the cafe Rui and Tsukushi had tea at in episode three, which I know is on Omotesando somewhere too, but I need to Googlemap the place or something. The mall Tsukasa stalked Rui and Tsukushi to on their date in S1 appears to be really easy to find, so maybe that place too. And the place from the S1 finale where Rui told Tsukushi to go chase Tsukasa's plane looks really easy to find as well.
The rest of the past few days in brief: Utaban was absolutely amazing, Maou tonight was my favorite episode so far, we took other purikura that I may have decorated with an obscene amount of sparkles and written "both dazzled and dazzling" on, I still want to see Hanadan Final more times, and my 24 Jikan Terebi t-shirt has shipped, yay.

Date: 2008-08-08 05:19 pm (UTC)You totally make me want to go to TBS studios, on top of FujiTV studios now too. Which I will have to do in the winter. Because yes, I am coming to Japan this winter! :Dv I will have to shoot you over the details later when you are not busy, but yeah! Two weeks starting right after Christmas! *whee*

Date: 2008-08-09 03:37 am (UTC)There's a mixi comm that has every single location used for both series of Hanadan listed (down to the street corners people walked down!) so I'm using that as a guide. That cafe was probably my favorite one used in the drama, and the price was doable, so we hit it up.
I'm actually gonna be going home for Christmas again... I was thinking of coming back for New Year, but I'm really starting to miss my family so I may be staying in America longer. But send me the dates you're planning on being here so hopefully I can make it so we overlap a bit! :D
