ATTN: the "Transference" Torch scene is still my favorite thing evar. TWO FAVORITE SHIPS FOR THE PRICE OF ONE.

I truly love how on the commentary, JG is like, "Lionel has a biiiig crush on Chloe!" and the writers are like, "WE AREN'T WRITING IT THAT WAY, PLEASE STOP PUSHING THE ICKY AGE-INAPPROPRIATE WRONGNESS AND YET! THIS MOMENT IS SO CRUEL!" and JG's pretty much like, yeah, that and he also wants in her pants. And the writers are like, BUT...BUT IN AN EVIL, CRUEL WAY.

CLIONEL: If Lionel Luthor ever managed to get out of prison, what do you suppose he'd do? About you, I mean?
ME: Apparently attempt to put the moves on you, bring you flowers spontaneously, and pass the yams. IN THAT ORDER.

Oh, what the hell, I haven't done anything for picspammy this month.

From back when the biggest problem from the WB's promotional department was that year when they referred to new episodes as "fresh" episodes. I remember complaining about how dumb that was, and yet I watch the trailer and realize we didn't know how good we had iiiit. D:

I always shipped them in a dirtybadwrong kind of way since their whole storyline began, and then in the commentary for this scene John Glover said he'd been deliberately playing the Chlionel stuff, so...this scene makes me really happy just in how my inappropriate crack pairing got validated for a day <3 ...even as my heart BREAKS for Chloe in this scene, since Clark/Chloe are my favorites.

I can't imagine what the viewers who didn't know he was gay thought of his "Transference" commentary. I wish they HAD pushed the icky age-inappropriate wrongness, though, because the Lionel/Chloe and - oddly enough - Lionel/Lana scenes are usually awesome.

And, yes, Tom is rather good in this scene too.

OMG I love this scene so much! The commentary on it is classic. JG is all like "He wants to TAP ITTT!!" And everyone else is like "No! It's evil!" And JG is like "Evil....AND SEXY!" Amazing.

Seriously, this is one of the million reasons why Transference is the only episode of SV that has merited a place on my iPod. SO GOOD. Two OTPs for the price of one! That scene was so hot. Man, I forgot how much I missed Chlionel. (Also I forgot how much I missed the Torch set! Oh man, those were the days.)

What makes this scene so brilliant for me is the acting itself. Tom is incredibly believable as Lionel, I don't see Clark at all in his performance. And I love Allison's switch from bravado to fragility.

I get CHILLS every time I watch this scene. Fantastic acting on both parts, and the chemistry is seriously off the charts. They aren't going to get together on this show, but they really really need to do something else together to capitalize on that chemistry. MAN.
