So now Clark is like, totally out of nowhere, "Score! I will show Zod how awesome humans are! That'll totally work!" BECAUSE HE IS A DUMBASS. And no, I don't think this is the path he's supposed to be going on, since the episode underlined the problems in the future are still seeded now: Clark and Chloe don't trust each other anymore at all in either timeline, Chloe and Ollie are the ones who will get shit done but may cross the morally grey line to get there without real!Clark looking over their shoulders, Clark still doesn't give a crap about a single person except Lois in either timeline.
I can't really find it Clexy since Clark is like, "Aww, Zod just wants to commit genocide! If I give him a hug I am sure we can work around it!" whereas with Lex it was all, "THIRTEEEEEEEEEEN WOMEEEEEEEN, LEX! THIRTEEEEEEEEEEEN, YOU MANWHOOOOOORE! YOU ARE NEVER COMING BACK FROM THAT!" Mostly it's just underlining again how everyone on the entire planet is cut slack in Clark's book except Lex. :(
