I loved Stargirl, but this scene was some of the worst acting I've ever seen on TV, lol.

The rest of the episode she was no worse than the typical standard of questionable acting on SV, thank goodness.

And note that the coffee meta still has yet to play out with a single couple in the past two seasons. Nobody has EVER had coffee together where they both drink: for all the coffee shop scenes, nobody has ever HAD COFFEE TOGETHER. I'm probably going to give coffee meta its own freaking picspam because it's been practically a biweekly fixture on the show the past two seasons.

This scene was so sweet. I thought this really tied together the whole arc from Failsday to now.

Clark saying in Watchtower to Chloe, "I have no home." Which was ridiculous then and still ridiculous now.

Also, Stargirl hates the stupid cave and wants Chloe to buy some twinkle lights and some beanbag chairs and go on a shopping spree next time Pier 31 has a sale.

The Hawkman and Ollie stuff was lolarious.

I wish they'd both been Bale-voicing at each other the whole time, it was HILARIOUS.

...this was my favorite scene the entire season.

I loved it SO MUCH I cannot even say. It was so heartwarming and sad at the same time, with the look on Chloe's face.





And that was my favorite moment all season, with her smiling as she finally goes outside and shuts the doors.

It's all gonna be okay. I can feel it.

I'm totes doing another picspam later just for the meta craziness in this episode, if I can find the time to put it all together. It was OFF THE CHARTS. SO MUCH OF IT. SOOOO MUCH.

The first half was a little slow; this really didn't need to be two episodes, but I'd gladly take two episodes of this rather than another one of pointless filler. Definitely my favorite of the season, but since Crossfire is the only other episode that I didn't hate or was bored out of my skull by, it didn't have much competition.

I loved all the stuff about family, though. It finally tied everything together from Failsday and this was the first time since Failsday where I felt like all the painful stuff was tying together and moving towards resolution. We know Chloe and Clark are each others' homes; they've been meta about that since Odyssey. But then Eradiclark was all "BAAAAAW NO I DON'T HAVE A HOME!" in Failsday, and that meant Chloe lost hers too, because she has nobody else.

When MM said that they were his family, it was so heartwarming, but I still felt the sting of how she'd lost Clark as hers. But then her closing the doors on Watchtower and her smile was wonderful.

I hope things keep looking up for her from here. ♥

Chloe aside...

Clark was... 相変わらず微妙だなぁ、と。 *laugh* There were pros and cons this episode but at least he didn't put anyone innocent in the hospital this week. Things are looking up! Also, I don't care about Ollie but I think after four years since introducing him, they're finally giving him a little bit of depth! He's starting to seem like a real person now!

And I loved ALL the JLA stuff but most especially Stargirl. It's been so long since we've had someone that optimistic on this show. I want her to stick around!

The first intro of Courtney was /terrible/ ahahaha. I laughed so hard while cringing at the same time.

The thing about Stargirl in Johns' writing is that she's quite literally a tribute to his sister, who died in a plane crash, so he idealizes her as the heart of the JSA -- the one who makes it be a family above and beyond Ma Hunkel (I laaaaughed so damn much when she showed up in that ep!) and the Elder Statesmen (yeah, Hawkman generally isn't one of the trio there).

If you want JSA issues with Stargirl, I have them. I ♥ JSA. Lots.

Also, Lois' 'My taxi ran out of gas on my way to interview tech guru Michael Holt' made me snicker. And some of Kent's babbling before he put the helmet on referenced Hourman and Doc Mid-Nite.

Yes indeed, Phil Morris IS amazing. His last scene with Chloe was bittersweet but still uplifting.

And it pains me to say this, but JH was actually all right in this episode.

The episode overall to me was rather boring, but there was still some good stuff in it. And Chloe looked beautiful. I liked the Chlollie wound-tending scene because Chloe actually believed Ollie wasn't hurt. I guess she's just used to her heroes being invulnerable.

I usually don't like it when they make her bangs like that, but last week she looked really bad; this was the first episode where I thought she looked almost as good as last year.

If I end up watching this I blaming YOU and your hella pretty picspam. OMG the scene with Chlark and the old timey video! SO PRETTY! And Chloe looked amazingly beautiful all through the episode. I'm really loving her hair! And she was wearing a coat that reminded me of the Vessel coat (even though it wasn't! I get excited whenever I see Chloe in turquoise now though. It's like a Pavolian response now.)

AHAHA I was actually going to comment on how bad Stargirl's acting looked JUST from those first caps. If your acting is so bad you can tell it just from screencaps that's pretty bad. Good to hear she at least gets better. And I'm in favor of anyone that is nice to Chloe and advises her to buy beanbag chairs!

ngl, when I saw the promos for Absolute Justice, I felt tempted to watch for the hell of it, but NOES. >~<;;;
All the comic refs actually do make me wanna peek in on this show, but I consider myself forewarned on that front. But it doesn't change how just a flash of things like that giant JSA logo table and mentions of the Suicide Squad successfully hook my interest, even if SV doesn't manage to actually reel me in to that tarpit. But I did actually watch s1, and the Legion ep, so it's not like I can claim to be free of taint either.
