TV SHOWS AREN'T SUPPOSED TO HURT THIS MUCH. I NEED A HUG. I CAN'T TAKE ANY MORE OF THIS. WHY CAN'T EVERYONE JUST GET ALONG.
I started giggling sooo hard at the start of the episode. I was like, "DUDE, HE'S GOING TO BE WAITING THERE FOREVER. AGAIN. HOW FUCKING AWESOME IS THAT."

Seriously loving Yuuki's hair this year.

Love, love, love this shot.

EATING HIS FACE.

Though by this point I had stopped laughing at Tsukasa and felt bad. Though really he deserves it a little, doesn't he?

Love the, "Oh, SHIT," look dawning on his face as he realizes what happened.

The yellow background they've added to the ceiling makes the cafeteria so much more dynamic and beautiful as a setting. I really love it.

I still need to finish last week's picspam but suffice to say after last week I'm ready to marry Tsukushi's wallpaper.

Introducing Hanazawa Rui, the human coat rack.

At least he got a new book.

EATING IT ALIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE.

Does...does she not go to school at all?

AHHHHHH LOVE THIS LOCATION!!!!

More human coatrack LOL

I loved this scene. "I already have a girl that I'm destined for."

Why did we not see that ceiling in S1?! Did it not exist back then? It's GORGEOUS.

Must repeat: I love, love, love Yuuki's hair.

HAHAHAHA

Akira strangling the pillows was one of the highlights of the episode for me. XD

Just like last week, Inoue is so good at letting so many layered emotions fly across her face.

Yeah, and MatsuJun's just trying to kill me. It's working.

This moment, where she bites her lip and you know she's fighting not to lose it...so sad.

Even now, I can't believe he didn't run after her. During the entire scene, I really thought that scene would be it: as Tsukushi was rambling on, I really thought he'd just hug her out of nowhere and then it would all be okay.

I'm tired of this before it's even started, but I like that he left her.

This is possibly my favorite shot in the entirety of Hanadan so far.

I'm sorry, if you didn't tear up at this, you must be dead inside. I was sobbing.

I had to pause it and actually pull myself together at this point.

CEILIIIIING

I really felt for him here. Finally we got some insight into part of why he's so trapped.

Again, I can't imagine not crying at this moment. GOD.

And again, Inoue nailed it with all the different expressions. I took over 20 caps of this but it was such a dark shot I didn't bother with them all. She was so good here though.

More human coatrack. Hee.

Another new book!

FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE

Ahaha Jane Austen book behind him!

GET A FUCKING HAIRCUT

I doubt anyone is surprised to hear that I was pretty much inconsolable by this point.

PPLD!

I hope that year-old cookie was worth it, Tsukasa.

CRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.

Go, go, Nishida!! (I love how he totally stalks Tsukushi around the clock!!)

I really was afraid that they were going to end the episode right here.

BUT THEY DIDN'T. THANK GOD.

HELLS, YEAH.

NEXT WEEK: I was really mad until the last shot. I was like, "You people cannot pull this shit on me and not even give any Tsukushi/Tsukasa scene snippets to help me pull through this next week!" Sigh. I'm already bracing myself for the near-inevitablity of Tsukasa racing to the hospital and arriving just in time to find Rui laying one on Tsukushi. SIIIIIIGH.
I can't take much more of this. I'm in need of an episode where Tsukushi and Tsukasa go to Disneyland and absolutely nothing bad happens at all.
P.S. there needs to be a Tsukushi/Tsukasa fanvid for S2 set to "Total Eclipse of the Heart." I don't know why. I just know there needs to be one now.
(edit: I just realized I got through a post where I mocked Oguri Shun's hair more than MatsuJun's. Wow. This is a big step for me.)

Date: 2007-01-20 11:08 am (UTC)I half agree with what you are saying about sending them off to disneyland etc, but you love the angst really, don't you?! I think that is what is keeping us glued to our screens. Well, in my case it is!
And I never noticed Rui needing a haircut until just now haha. His hair IS eating his face!
It's not a tsukushi/tsukasa fanvid and it's not S2, but there's a HYD anime one somewhere on youtube I think.
Maybe next week Oguri Shun's hair will just devour his whole face...

Date: 2007-01-20 11:13 am (UTC)Yeah, I am glued to the screen because of the angst, but...it can't keep going on forever! Too much more of MatsuJun's sad!eyes and I'm going to be broken beyond repair. ;P I know it's 15 episodes so it'll probably be a while yet before those two begin to function, but I'd like at least one Disneyland-style episode before the end, after sitting through all this pain!

Date: 2007-01-20 08:14 pm (UTC)...um, I may have been a sobbing wreck, wailing WHY CAN'T THEY JUST WORK IT OUUUUUUUT until I went to bed last night as "Flavor of Life" played on loop. So...that would probably be a yes.

Date: 2007-01-20 04:37 pm (UTC)Oh, and I didn't cry at the cookie!eating. Just because I've been waiting for that since like the first episode. *chuckle* I'm human, really. I promise. ^_-

Date: 2007-01-20 08:19 pm (UTC)Ahaha, I cried a lot more at the "Flavor of Life" montage, more than anything else this episode.

Date: 2007-01-22 02:28 am (UTC)So obviously I agree with everything you said. And PRETTY!!! Tsukushi's library reminded me of the one at my school. And the locations and lighting and shots...everything is just SUPER pretty this season isn't it? Last season there were some nice moments (sunset kiss!) but this season is just...outprettying it all over the place!
GET A FUCKING HAIRCUT
I KNOW! I tried to warn you about the hair's evil plot as it makes it's descent upon the nose/mouth region. Soon we will just see the HAIR and hear Rui speak. That's when the HAIR has won.
Although when Rui was running after Makino and his hair was blown out of his face by the wind I was like "OMG FACE!! I almost forgot what you LOOKED LIKE! *%&%%! Get a haircut!"
Also? I love Sojiro/Yuki. She's gotten much prettier this season. This might have to do with me liking her hair so much more (everything goes back to HAIR). But still, they KILL me. I love that we have S/Y subplot action.
Best part of the episode? (Besides general heartbreak) was Akira strangeling the pillows. PERFECT. Runner up was Domyouji eating the year and change old cookie. I giggled and then SOBBED in horror when he threw it away.
Why does this show hurt me so good? WHY?! I really second the Tsukasa/Tsukushi go to Disney world and nothing bad happens and then they go roll in a field of flowers and puppies storyline.

Date: 2007-01-22 03:06 am (UTC)Yeah, the public library here has that same kind of look too. I think they've done a really good job of making the sets more dynamic. The yellow in the cafeteria is genius, and I love the makeover for F4: THE LOUNGE (omgggg), the purple walls are gorgeous and the framed F4 photos lining the walls are pretty (and also crack my shit up). But probably the big difference is how they move the camera all the time now; in S1 the shots were so static and it made the show look really cheap in how stagey everything was.
Yes, you were right. I think I have to hold another poll about the Hair That Ate Rui's Face since even people who voted that it wasn't eating his face have changed their minds and are speaking out about it now.
Yeah, I always thought Yuuki looked plain in S1, but she looks stunning this year! Her little updos have been gorgeous.
I'm pretty much crazy over how this show is hurting so good. Because, I mean. A show where all anyone does is talk about their FEEEEEEEELINGS, while product-placing their designer outfits and accessories, until the emo montage of pain starts up a la Dawson's Creek? HAS NO RIGHT TO BE THE BEST SHOW ON TELEVISION NOW. And yet it is.
I'm starting to feel like a Disneyworld/flowers/puppies episode is needed, stat. I can't take much more of the pain! I really want Tsubaki back too...I still don't understand why she isn't around trying to fix this! And even if she couldn't fix it, at least then I could stare at her hair to distract from the HURT INSIDE.
