SAPPORO IS AWESOME WHOOOOO

Okay, last night kind of sucked, tbh. BUT TONIGHT WAS AWESOME. I went with [livejournal.com profile] kikucutie and she went last night for the first time, and said, "Oh, this is what it's supposed to be like?" And I was like...YES<333

I didn't write last night up at all until now. It's just a big mush in my head now, sorry, but it wasn't great last night anyhow so all the good stuff from tonight is still fresh. ;P

NIGHT #1: it poured. All day long. It was freezing. Not quite literally freezing but it apparently snowed earlier that week so as close as you can get without it being hail.

DAY #2: It was gorgeous weather in the morning and started raining as I walked to the Dome. I was like, "Oh, you have to be kidding!" but when I got up the stairs I saw:

So for the first night they raised a storm and the second night they raised Arashi-colors. XD

(obligatory uchiwa whoring - mine's the bottom one in both shots)

GENERAL

+ Not getting into performance specifics, since pretty much the gist of it is the same as Kokuritsu.

+ Setlist: except for the last song, same as the Domes up until now, I believe. Which was sliiiightly different from Kokuritsu: Step and Go shifted to later in the setlist, and Boku ga Boku no Subete added in.

+ People said Kokuritsu was epic, and the Domes are a party. Very accurate. Nobody is crying at Dome shows really. The scrapbook VTR still got me even on the third viewing, but nothing compared to how I was bawling at Kokuritsu, and I don't think I teared up at all anywhere else for either night here. XD;

+ During the VTR tonight, when the voiceover asked, "I wonder if people who were at our debut concert are here tonight?" someone yelled out, "Yeah, I am!" XD

+ Last night the audience was quietish... And the technical difficulties were ridic. Sound fading in and out. Screens scrambled. Arashi obviously couldn't hear themselves sing a LOT of the time all night long. During "One Love," on "hyakunen saki mo~" Jun yanked out his earpiece in the middle of his solo since he was clearly having no luck with it in. The audience picked up the slack okay for the fading sound, but idk, last night just had no spark...

+ Tonight was fucking insane in the best way. It reminded me of the insane norinori aura of last year's final Tokyo Dome show of Dream-A-Live (where Nino wrote in his nikki afterwards that they thought the audience would eat them). Just absolutely nuts. The audience forgoing the call responses as just a penlight motion because we were just singing along at full volume the WHOLE TIME. It was just amazing. What I love so much about this and that the Tokyo show is they weren't special occasions or finales or anything, they were right in the middle of the tour, so it's awesome that the audience can go that crazy for just another stop on the road.

+ I feel bad for saying I didn't like Aiba's solo at Kokuritsu now, I realized he was really taking one for the team by doing his in daylight. That song needs to be done in the dark with crazy light show, for sure. Fuck, the C&R was AWESOME tonight! For everything, not just that, but we were just SCREEEEAMING the, "DOUYATTE KIMI NI TSUTAEREBA II?" and the, "WA NI NATTE, WA NI NATTE!" parts.

+ I always think people are kind of crazy when they're like, "OMG _____ WAS CLEARLY SICK!" on the net after the show but last night I was like, "Ah, Jun's obviously sick." I guess you really only notice if it's your favorite since they're so good at hiding it, ahaha. He seemed fine tonight, though.

+ Nino did the opening to Typhoon Generation normally for the, "Jya, ittekuru...a, sayounara ja nai yo ne?" and then put on this awesome face for, "MATA AERU KARA." The audience would already be screaming by the time he made the face, so he looked like, "YEAH BITCHES YOU SHOULD SCREAM YOU KNOW I'M HOT," and then both times did this little two-finger salute at the audience as if to acknowledge his coolness, lol.

+ I always used to see people whining online about how they missed dancing Typhoon Generation, yet no matter how many times I play the Asia performance of it I can't get a read on the dance for the LIFE of me except for the little back-and-forth move on "denwa de tsugeta" and gave up. Arashi didn't dance it either this tour so nobody knows the dance except oldskool people who remember it from years past. I never saw a single fan dancing it...until last night, when I saw a girl dancing it all by herself and was strangely touched. XD

+ Tonight for Aozora Pedal, Jun was doing the furi all by himself at the end~

+ Ohmiya ass-grabbing both nights for Hitomi no Naka no Galaxy. Last night I think Ohno grabbed Nino, tonight they were touching each other at the same time.

+ At every Dome location, the last shot of "Everything" is a shot of that Dome at sunset.

+ Sho did it at Kokuritsu too, but apparently it's a set thing for him to do his dorky ass-wiggling dance during "Ashita ni Mukatte." Last night he was getting too into dancing on the hanamichi and almost fell down the stairs...

+ Tonight during Hitomi no Naka no Galaxy, Nino fucked up the opening solo and sang, "Doushite nagareboshi ni NAGAIGOTO surun darou?" The audience busted up laughing and he was cracking up laughing at himself and was giggling through that ENTIRE SOLO. I thought this was maybe the best part of the night. It was so hilarious.

+ Both nights, the whole first part of Fight Song wasn't sung, but just spoken in silly voices, until they got to Ohno who would always sing his, "kurabeta jiten de maketeru!" part and then when they asked him for a comment at the end he would sing it again in a silly voice.

+ INFORMATION USELESS EXCEPT TO TINHATTERS: Jun wore the couples bracelet both nights all night, has been wearing it all tour

+ Like I said, the audience was NUTS tonight. Whenever the lyrics would mention singing out or voices, I felt like we would get even louder. Especially during Beautiful days at the "sou utau yo, koe no kagiri." 5x10 was also lovely tonight with full volume for "honki de naite, honki de waratte..."

+ Everyone was saying after Kokuritsu that "the arena was totally off" during "Attack it!" and I realized since then that the screen directions are what keep you on point so the arena had no idea what to do back then since we were facing away from the screens. This song HAS to become a regular setlist addition.

+ Oh, Carnival Night was INSANE too, LOVED IT.

+ But normal audiences go nuts for Gorimuchuu, and hooooly shit when that song comes up with an audience who's ALREADY crazy? INSANE! The members were running around looking like they were having a blast listening to us as we were screaming, "WE GET! WE GET THE CHANCE!" They looked like they were having about as much fun as the sliding in Kokuritsu last year. Jun grabbed a drumstick from the band drummer and he started going crazy pounding on the drums looking like he was having the fucking time of his life, ADORABLE

Someone said online later that Jun ran off with the drumstick after that and Nino noticed and retrieved it, and ran back to return it to the drummer in the band. XD

+ I wrote up a rather rambling bit about the difference in feeling regarding Dekiru Dake between Kokuritsu and tonight and then was appalled at how over-the-top my fangirlishness had gone and deleted. SORRY INTERNETS I THINK I WAS TOO LAME FOR EVEN ME THERE. SUFFICE TO SAY MY FEELINGS ARE MUSHY.

+ Both nights, they would talk a little before the final song. Jun would say, "Tonight we've been singing songs from our first ten years, but we've already entered our eleventh now. So I'd like to finish the night with the final song being the first song of our eleventh year: the theme song for Aiba-kun's drama..." And then they sang My Girl. tbh, I liked "season" better, but My Girl isn't bad as an ender. All the "arigatou" bits made it feel really full circle since they started with Kansha Kangeki Ame Arashi.

GREETINGS

Aiba said, "Saikou da ze~" again and laughed.

Jun said, "みんな、準備はいいか?幸せになる準備は出来てるか?俺たち5人が幸せにしてやるよ!!"

Ohno and Nino's were the usual, I don't remember Sho's...

MC FOR THE FIRST NIGHT

+ Every seat was full, including the parts of the stands on the side they usually leave empty since you can't see the stage, and the VIP boxes up in the ceiling for baseball, both of which JE added last-minute and provided extra tickets for to get more people inside. Sho called up to the people at the top and in the VIP box, "I don't think I could sit up there, I'd be scared! Are you guys scared? Yell if you're scared!" A bunch of people yelled. "Yell if you're not scared!" A slightly bigger number screamed. Arashi noted, "It's about the same..."

+ Jun changed shirts during the MC and the camera panned up his body like it was an episode of frigging Baywatch or something, resulting in catcalls.

+ Then, Aiba announced loudly, "Sho-chan, your fly's open!" Sho hid his crotch with his water bottle and zipped up.

"During the opening greetings, you were asking the audience, 'ARE YOU READYYYY? ARE YOU READYYYYY?' when you're the one who wasn't ready apparently!" LOL.

+ Talk about Arashi Challenge Week. "It was more of a challenge for the audience to watch it all than it was for us to do it, wasn't it?" I think I forgot a bit of this because I was super busy that week and barely watched any of it, honestly, so I found it hard to follow them talking about the shows. XD;

+ I gathered that Nino went on some show where you had to bet money or something? Jun hadn't watched it and he asked if Nino won. Nino said he didn't lose. Jun asked how much money he brought with him, and Nino said, "50,000 yen...and 40,000 yen in gift certificates!" NEVER CHANGE, NINO.

+ Ohno said he was super nervous doing Zero because it's live and the staff is rushing around and the script keeps getting changed around up to the last second as they're airing. Nino said, "Your part wasn't something with changes anyway so why do you care..." XD; At the end, he forgot that you're supposed to bow during the, "Jya, kyou wa kono hen de..." So he bowed when he saw everyone else doing it, but didn't know the timing for how long he was supposed to keep his head down and came up to early, looked and saw everyone else still bowing, and then went back down again. They made him act it out, it was so cute.

+ Jun talked about going on whatever show it was with the Aiba lookalike. He said "when he smiled he looked just like a smarter version of Aiba-kun." ORZ

Nino said, "When Aiba-kun smiles it's sexy." Aiba said all appalled, "MY SMILE IS NOT SEXY OMG." Everyone else reminded him he's an idol and shouldn't say that, and Aiba said okay maybe he shouldn't since idols have to get by on their looks.

+ They talked about the Odoroki live. Aiba said he didn't remember what the meaning of the time capsule item was. Sho said, "But we buried it in Hokkaido. Did any of you (fans) go look for it? CALL OUT IF YOU WENT TO LOOK!" and crickets chirped. Jun said, "I don't think we ever said the location on air though..."

They talked about the 3-D. Sho said, "It's just a rumor, but I heard that all the red and blue colored cellophane sold out in Japan." The members said that couldn't be right. Sho said, "I don't know if it's true or not for all of Japan, but Tokyu Hands definitely announced they were totally out at all locations nationwide." Jun said some people he knew had used red and blue transparent shitajiki held up to their eyes to watch, which got a big reaction from the audience as a good idea.

Then they talked about the flying stage. Sho said in a teensy voice that was obviously a lie, "I wasn't scared at all."

Jun said, "Sho-kun got majorly pissed at me then FOR REALS." Apparently when they were floating around, Jun was trying to be a huge attention whore to get closer to one of the cameras to wave into it. All of them were hooked up to two wires, and so he grabbed onto one of Sho's to propel himself forward to the camera.

Sho was left flailing in midair off-balance with only the one wire carrying his weight properly, and started flapping his arms and screaming bloody murder, "MATSUJUN!!!! MATSUJUUUUUN!!!! LET GO!!! THAT IS MY LIFELIIIIINE!!!!!! MY LIFELIIIIIIIIINE!!!!" Jun kept saying how Sho was SO SO SO PISSED at him.

Nino said it was fucking hilarious, and imitated Sho flailing his arms around in midair, mockingly yelling, "MY LIFELIIIIIIINE!!!!!"

+ Moving onto self-pimpage... Ohno said his drama episodes were over. He said something about it that made no sense, and the members kept trying to get him to explain it to make sense, but he was totally incoherent so after a minute they just left it.

Sho talked about his drama announcement. Sho said, "I'm playing a 24 year old this time! Two years ago I was a 17 year old! I'm still playing younger than my real age and will keep working hard!" He said this in a super genki kiddie voice. XD

Everyone else asked who else was in it, and Sho said, "Horikita Maki-chan," and they asked who else, and Sho said, "Um, who else was in the press release?" and everyone else gave him shit for not remembering and Jun of course rattled off the other names from memory.

The announcement for the drama had a headline like "Sakurai Sho, DoM?!" Sho asked if he had that kind of image. Someone else asked if the drama was going to involve him getting whipped dominatrix-style. Jun said they wouldn't air that kind of thing at 9PM.

Jun talked about Wagaya no Rekishi and how he'd been in Shanghai for the taping. He said even though he was alone, fans of Arashi came to see him holding uchiwa of the other members, and some chick was yelling, "OHNO, OHNO!" at him. He said he was like, "(waving back, smiling through his teeth) ...I'm Matsumoto, damn it!" Everyone else said placatingly that they probably just meant to tell him to say hi to Ohno.

Jun said Wagaya no Rekishi was a really good drama set in Showa, and he thought it was a drama that would be fun to watch with the whole family, and it was his wish for families to watch it with their grandparents all together. "So it would be like, 'Grandma, was it really like that back then?' 'Yes, back when your grandpa was alive, it was like...'" Someone else was like, "WTF, you just said for people to watch it with their Grandpa and Grandma and now you're killing off the grandpa in your story abruptly?" Jun was like, nooo! (I really think he was out of it last night... XD;)

Aiba talked about My Girl. They asked him how far in he was. He said, "There are ten episodes in all and we're on the sixth now, so three left!"

"...I THINK YOU MEAN FOUR."

Aiba paused, did the math, and looked at the audience and wailed, "Please don't write about this on the internet, I don't want people to find out I'm that dumb!"

"It's too late, I think the secret's out."

They asked Nino about his work and he pimped out the Mario game. They asked him about the commercial and he said he was filmed playing Mario for about an hour. Everyone else couldn't believe he was paid to play Wii as a job.

Nino said they would have him play for a half-hour, then break, then have him play again. Everyone said, "You don't need a break!" and Aiba said he should have one so he didn't ruin his eyes. Nino said he played with four people since you can play the game with up to four players and there is another commercial version filmed like that too. Nino looked at the parent-child seats and told the moms to buy Mario for their kids.

SPEECHES FOR THE FIRST NIGHT

SHO: "There are two ways to climb a mountain. There are the people who just go straight up to the top. Then there are the people who take the long route, going right and left, right and left. We took that second route. But we could take our time like that because whether we were going right or left, all of you stayed with us the whole time."

OHNO: "Since it's our eleventh year now, we want to face it with the same attitude we did when we were starting out on our first year. So if you notice any of us acting full of ourselves, please feel free to call out, 'That guy's full of it!' so you guys can keep us in check."

NINO: "In our eleventh year, Arashi is going to keep going forward, forward. Except Leader is going to try to go out to sea, sea. So everyone please try to reel him back in to land, land!"

AIBA: "Tonight was fun! So fun I forgot whatever songs we were just singing!"

...why am I forgetting Jun's... ORZ

ENCORE TALKING

+ Jun started to say, "We want to meet with all of you again," or something like that but he stumbled on his words and got all mixed up and the audience started laughing at him. He made a huge show of flouncing off towards backstage and everyone else called him back. He pouted and started wailing like a six-year-old tattling to mommy, "BUT-BUT-BUT EVERYONE WAS BEING MEANIES AND LAUGHING AT MEEEE!"

+ When they walked out at the very very end, Sho and Ohno did their silly slapstick exit, but left Aiba standing in the middle looking at the audience. Aiba stood there for a moment and then blew a kiss to the audience and ran out. <3

OKAY, NOW TONIGHT!

MC FOR THE SECOND NIGHT

+ Jun changed his shirt again. Ohno was staring at him as he did it. They did a brief bit where Jun lifted up his shirt part of the way like a strip show and Ohno was trying to peek up his shirt like a perv. Sho asked wtf they were doing and they were like, "...we don't even know."

+ Sho said there were a ton of guys there in the audience that night. He said when they were going around on fanservice runs, one of the guys was pointing at him instead of Sho being the one pointing, and Sho demonstrated looking absolutely ridiculous, pointing and winking like a cartoon, saying he had no idea how to respond to this guy totally into it and giving SHO fanservice. *laugh*

They wondered how many guys there were that night so they decided to ask them to yell. "What should we have them yell?" "I LOVE ARASHI!" (嵐だいすき!) They got the guys to yell "in their manliest voices" and it was indeed pretty sizable. We had one right behind us, I was shocked. XD

Then they wanted to have the girls yell too and squabbled over what to have us yell. Nino wanted "something girls wouldn't usually scream, like I LOVE MEAAAAAT!" but Sho said since they had the guys yell daisuki that the girls should yell AISHITERU. Sho said, "So please yell for us now because we want to hear your voices. Even if you don't love us, lie and yell it anyway?" And we did. Jun yelled back, "We love you back!" which got a huge reaction. XD

+ They said they went out for sushi the night before. Someone in Wagaya no Rekishi with Jun is from Sapporo so Jun asked him for a restaurant recommendation. He asked Jun if it was okay if it was an expensive place and sent him to this sushi restaurant. It was tiny and only seated the five members at the counter, without a sushi turntable. Since it was like *~gourmet sushi~* it was smaller than usual and they said they kept eating these teensy one-bite sushi and no matter how much they ate they couldn't get full. They decided this was "being grown-up." XD

Sho said he thought Ohno had turned into a foreigner during dinner since while eating he said dramatically, "OH MY GOD!!!" But then Sho realized he was saying, "Ooma maguro."

+ Aiba said he has filming tomorrow so last night he turned on the Japan vs South Africa soccer match and thought he'd learn his lines while watching that. Except he fell asleep and woke up with his script over his face like he fell asleep reading a manga in bed. Jun said, "So what you're saying is you weren't concentrating on either the game or learning your lines."

Aiba said it couldn't be helped because it was their first concert in a while so they were tired. They said they were getting more grown-up for sure since they had someone in the group about to turn 29.

+ They asked Ohno what he wanted for his birthday. Ohno said, "I'm too shy, I can't ask!"

Aiba said, "No, no! We're asking so tell us! It can be anything! If it's expensive we'll split it among the four of us!"

Ohno said, "Really anything?"

"Anything!"

"...a boat <3"

Everyone yelled at him for asking for something that expensive and he whined, "But you SAID anything!"

Aiba (?) said, "If you want one made of salt I think that can be arranged."

Sho said, "You'll get the most distance in the lego or the hay boats so I recommend those instead." I DIED.

Seriously asking him again what he wanted, he said he wanted...I think a mini freezer? They asked him why. "To store fish<3"

"NATURALLY."

Later Nino talked about his Mario commercial again and Ohno got really into the topic, so Nino asked, "Why don't we get you Mario for your birthday then?" Ohno said, "Yeah!" Jun asked, "You HAVE a Wii?" and Ohno said yes, his family played bowling together, and Jun laughed, "Oh right, you guys play it with your dad's coworkers, I forgot..."

Nino said since there were a lot of guys in the audience tonight some of them must be fathers, and he said, "Dads, kids are looking forward to Christmas! You know what makes a great Christmas gift? MARIO!"

+ They mentioned they had set a record for Sapporo Dome attendance. "It means there's more people here than for the baseball Japan Series, how cool is that?" Aiba asked how they had more than baseball and everyone was like, "Because we have people in the arena, duh..."

+ They repeated the drama pimping again and when Jun started talking about his, Aiba was looking off in the distance and Jun started yelling at him for not acting interested. Aiba claimed to be VERY interested. Jun said, "Tell me ONE THING you're interested in about this drama, then!" Aiba said, "That you can watch it with your grandparents and ask them to tell you about when they were growing up--"

"THAT'S JUST REPEATING EXACTLY WHAT I SAID YESTERDAY!!!"

"SO WHAT IF IT IS?!"

+ Aiba said a My Girl fanbook will be coming out. It will have special photographs, not of Aiba Masaki, but of him as Masamune-kun. They're photos they've been taking all along the way through shooting.

FINAL SPEECHES

+ Sho: He said because we were next to them, supporting them, by their sides: "nandaka ikesou na ki ga suru~~~" in that singsong voice like that one variety manzai routine! I can't remember the name! But they were on Utaban with Arashi for that manzai special...

+ I don't remember Ohno's...

+ Aiba: "Today was so hyper-fun. Singing with you, dancing with you...even though I screwed up the choreography again... When I see you all smiling, I think, 'I can't lose!' and want to have more of a smile than you do. Which sounds weird but that's how I feel. I know it's not a competition but I still feel like I don't want to lose to you guys. And I know it's not an exchange, but when I'm smiling at you guys I get energy from you, and I feel like you get energy from me. And then we both go back to our lives with that energy to make use of what we got from each other."

+ Nino: "Today was so HYPER FUN~! ...nobody says that anymore. But when Aiba-kun says it, he makes it sound fresh and not like old slang." He talked a bit about ten years and stuff, and then paused and said, "And now...I have something VERY IMPORTANT to tell you all..." The audience went dead silent.

"Please...I'm asking you...buy Mario." FINISH. LOL.

+ Jun said, "The reason we have gotten to the tenth year is because of all of you here tonight. Because of all the Arashi fans supporting us in Japan. Because of all the Arashi fans supporting us throughout the entire world. Thank you."

FINAL ENCORE TALKING

+ Jun said, "I want us to meet again just like this. With nothing changing. Exactly like this. Let's meet together and have fun...and love one another again. <3" This got a whooping reaction.

They were standing in a line, and Jun turned to Nino on his side and pointed at him to go next and called, "Kazu!" !!!!! Nino said, "Sapporo, I love you!" in a silly voice like he was playing Yuuji.

Then down the line. Sho said in English, "I LOOOOOOVE YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!"

"Satoshi!"

"Thank you very much!" in a silly Taka-style voice following Nino's lead.

"Masaki!"

Aiba looked into the camera and said, "See you later, kittens~<3" which got a huuuge reaction.

And then it was over. They walked out normally and Jun was out last and waved and told us to go home safe.

The audience was so loud in yelling for a triple tonight, and I really thought we'd get it since it was about the same level of crazy as last year's Tokyo (when we got the first triple of the tour then) but way too many people were walking out tonight to catch their planes, so even if they had wanted to they couldn't have for safety reasons I guess. No complaints though. This was the best. And unless a freaking MIRACLE occurs this is definitely the end of the tour for me this time. I'm planning on begging for a ticket outside Tokyo Dome since it's so close to my place I have nothing to lose, but it'll be me and like 500 other people so no real hope there. *laugh*

As usual, I'll be editing this over the next day or two as I remember stuff...

Thanks for writing this detailed con report! :D

Aiba paused, did the math, and looked at the audience and wailed, "Please don't write about this on the internet, I don't want people to find out I'm that dumb!"

AIBABA, never change. NEVER. Lol, I can imagine him saying this to the crowd.

Sho's story about Jun camwhoring and taking away his lifeline is soooooooooo cute! LOL. I'd like to see that in person so bad.

And thanks for the tinhatter info. Never knew that my fandom was called that, lol.

Hahaha omg Aiba♥♥♥

Thanks for the report, this is the first time in a long time I've wanted to read the whole report. Thanks for writing it so well! :D

Poor Sho with his fly down. *dying*
I love that he screamed "I love you so much" in English. *dying again* X3

Nino is such a dork...I'm totally buying Mario.

Sounds like a really awesome concert. Hopefully a few cameras were there to catch some of it for the DVD or a crazy ninja fan.
