I went to see You Can (Not) Advance for the third time last night. In six days.

IT IS STILL UNBELIEVABLY GOOD.























+ Souryuu Asuka Langley = BAMF. Seriously. I wish I could have squeezed my favorite part of the fight sequence quote in there: "'Destroy them all'? Is Misato forgetting she's talking to an invalid?" <3

+ I actually think this is the first time I ever paused the movie to read through the letters and emails from fans inserted into the movie. I sort of had to laugh at the one saying Eva was like watching a sick masturbation show because... HOW CAN YOU NOT LAUGH AT THEM ATTACHING THAT COMMENT TO THIS MOVIE.

+ Generally my feelings have always been TV series ending >>> this movie, even though the Misato and Shinji scene is probably my favorite in the entire series, and the Asuka fight sequence is amazing. But it's grown on me a little. idk.

I'm sure this surprises no one, but.

The movie was exactly the same (except they cut the credits really sloppily into the very beginning, and cut out the ending credits with Beautiful World entirely, I'm guessing for time).

Then they recut the Jikai Yokoku for 2.0 to be more accurate, because the original trailer had shown one scene that wasn't actually in the movie. This version took out the incorrect scene, and replaced it with real footage from 2.0.

In other words, I COULD HAVE BEEN WATCHING MY DVD AGAIN WITHOUT COMMERCIALS. I sat through this to see an updated movie trailer, to a MOVIE I HAVE ALREADY SEEN.

GAINAX is lucky they have built up an incredible amount of goodwill with me this week, I can't even get mad at them for this oh-so-GAINAX level of fuckery. I'm sure the ratings for this were off the charts, lol.

I loved watching You are not alone in cinemas last year.. it was AMAZING no matter how many times I've watched the series before, I don't even care if its rehashed, EVANGELION will always be awesome.

The second one came out a week ago. And it's amazing, it might be my favorite thing in the entire Eva canon so far.

It's driving me crazy because I wish I had people to talk to about it but it's too good to spoil it for anyone else who hasn't seen it, lol.
